Gerald Scarfe has some fantastic Pink Floyd oil paintings in the upcoming Made in Britain sale tomorrow afternoon (UK time), March 9th, at Sotheby's auction house in London.
In total, there are six of Gerald's artworks in the auction, four of which are Pink Floyd paintings. Two of them are shown here, in images kindly supplied to us by Gerald himself.
- Lot 120 - Boris, The Party's Over - estimate 3,000-5,000 GBP
- Lot 121 - Oh! Elton We Love You! (Drawn for Scarfe's Bar) - estimate 3,000-5,000 GBP
- Lot 122 - Pink Floyd The Wall The Teacher - Leave Them Kids Alone - estimate 4,000-6,000 GBP
- Lot 123 - Tear Down The Wall - estimate 7,000-8,000 GBP
- Lot 124 - Frightened Ones (above, top) - estimate 20,000-30,000 GBP
- Lot 125 - Marching Hammers and Screaming Head (above, bottom) - estimate 30,000-40,000 GBP
The opportunity to own an original piece by Gerald doesn't present itself very often, and these works with no doubt prove very popular in the auction. For more details of the lots - more pictures, descriptions, sizes, condition, and how to bid - can be found at Sothebys.com.
