Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1968WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Bath and Knebworth Festivals - new limited commemorative sets on sale Print E-mail

Bath and Knebworth Festival boxsetAfter quickly selling out of the initial limited edition of the Bath and Knebworth Pink Floyd commemorative set, which we review here, the promoters of the original events have produced a new Bath and Knebworth Pink Floyd commemorative set limited to just 200 and features many items that were not included with the first set.

The original set proved popular with many Floyd fans who bought it, and one of the highlights for us was the book by Freddy Bannister relating the stories behind the various shows. Particularly interesting were the Floyd and Led Zeppelin segments.

It is available through this direct link at www.rockmusicmemorabilia.com priced at £49.99 plus postage. None of the items in this set are available anywhere else in the world, and the set contains the following:

  • Programmes, tickets and flyers from the 1970 and 1975 Knebworth festivals
  • Four flyers dating back to 1967 and 1968 containing, amongst others the forthcoming performances of The Pink Floyd at The Pavilion, Bath (1968) and the Malvern Winter Gardens (1967)
  • Two t-shirts from both the Bath and Knebworth festivals
  • Three posters, one of which was designed by Storn Thorgerson for the 1975 Knebworth festival and a uniqe poster from the 1970 Bath festival (an original has recently sold at Bonhams for £1,800)
  • 15 photographs from the two festivals and a DVD entitled Spirit of Knebworth
  • A 300 page book entitled There Must Be A Better Way by the promoter Freddy Bannister, with inside stories re his early days of promoting and the UK festivals he promoted between 1969-1979
  • And as a special gift to Brain Damage visitors the Voiceprint DVD of Remember Knebworth 78, which normally sells for £16.99

Remember to let them know you saw the offer over at Brain Damage, to ensure you get your free DVD along with all the other items.
