Pink Floyd members appearing at Glastonbury Festival Print E-mail

To qualify this, we're not talking all on the same stage at the same time! Obviously, (as seen in adjacent news) Roger is definitely appearing. The strong rumour for the last couple of months is that Nick will join him on stage, presumably for one or two songs only.

The intriguing development is that a FURTHER rumour (and I stress this is a rumour) has circulated like wild fire. Jools Holland is apparently (no acts are confirmed by the promoter until all tickets are sold out) appearing on the pyramid stage on Saturday, the day before Roger, with David Gilmour, no less, as the guitarist in his Rhythm & Blues Band! Now, if only we could get Richard Wright along somehow, and be a fly on the wall backstage!

The following story has appeared on The Indian Express site:

Pink Floyd brings Echoes to Kolar’s arid fields
The group will donate proceeds from sales of 3 million CDs of their recent album to fight global warming - by Santosh Vijaykumar

Following the advance warning earlier, it turned out that "the legendary David Gilmour" (as introduced by the eponymous host) appeared on Saturday night's Michael Parkinson show, along with Jools Holland, his band, and Mica Paris, performing "I Put A Spell On You". This was no surprise as every time they appear together, this is the song that is performed. Mr Gilmour looked a little shy of attention, trying to keep out of the limelight, especially when the song had finished.

It has been confirmed as part of Roger's Bangalore show press release, that "...a television documentary of the India show will be a first of its kind to be aired post the concert for the FLOYD fans". Obviously we'll bring you full details of what this documentary contains, once it has aired and we know for ourselves.

If you can pick up the UK's BBC One (and a lot of Western Europe can), tune in at 22:20hrs on Saturday April 13th, as one of Michael Parkinson's chat show guests is Jools Holland and his band. Of particular interest to us is that David will be appearing on guitar as part of the performance.
