Many of you will be aware of "Wish You Were Here: Chapters In The Life Of Rex Roman", that was published last year. It looks at the life of Rex himself, British actor (and fading star), whose story is inextricably tied up with his favourite band, Pink Floyd.
A companion live show has been gaining momentum and a growing, loyal fan base, due to its blend of Pink Floyd classics (some of which are new arrangements) and the telling of Rex's story. Many key events are included, some of which have had audiences rolling in the aisles as the accent has been on the comedic side of Rex's story. Coupled with plenty of memorable images, too, the show has just opened at the world famous Edinburgh Festival.
The EdFringe.com website has got some reviews on it from people who've already been - it seems to be going down incredibly well! The show takes place in the Cowbarn on Udderbelly's Pasture every day at 10:15pm right through until August 23rd. Word of mouth means tickets are selling well, so hurry if you fancy finding out what the fuss is all about...

With this year seeing the 30th anniversary of Pink Floyd's The Wall album, there's naturally an increased focus on this key part of the band's history.
Some of you will be fully aware of Vernon Fitch and Richard Mahon's "Comfortably Numb", a stunning limited edition book covering all aspects of Pink Floyd's The Wall project - the creation of the album, the live shows, and the subsequent movie (read our review, and click the thumbnail to the right). Since publication back in 2006, the deluxe, numbered edition book has been a great success, receiving rave reviews from all quarters: Classic Rock Magazine named it their number one book of the year, and Record Collector gave it five stars (its highest rating) and included it on its books of the year list.
If you are quick, we've been told they still have some copies available to buy through www.PFApublishing.com (its only outlet) where sample
pages and more details can be found. With such a significant anniversary for The Wall, we're sure the remaining copies will be in heavy demand as the end of the year approaches and the album gets more coverage in the media. In our view, it's an essential book for the Floyd fan's bookshelves, so don't miss out!

[Story updated - release slightly delayed] Due to be published this month, "Pink Floyd Revealed" by Ian Shirley is a new hardback book that takes "a no-holds-barred look at how they achieved their mega success". Organized by year, it is said to cover all the major events in their long career accompanied by a large number of images of the band.
We understand that it is a "coffee-table" type publication (so, large format), with a number of unusual pictures gracing its 200 pages. It's not the first "Revealed" book that Flame Tree have brought out; their similar treatment of Led Zeppelin is a glossy, well-presented affair, that bodes well for the Floyd version. We're hoping to be able to bring you a review of this shortly; in the meantime, it can be pre-ordered (and at up to 30% discount on the recommended price!) at Amazon UK, Amazon.com, Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, or Amazon France.

Tying in with the fifteen anniversary of the album release, highly respected US radio show In The Studio will be airing another Pink Floyd show - their Division Bell special, featuring interviews with David Gilmour and Nick Mason. They'll be talking about the album's creation, the final studio album release from the band.
The show will be airing during the week of August 17th - 23rd, with individual radio stations across the US broadcasting it on their chosen day and time. So, visit www.InTheStudio.net for details of the many radio stations which carry the syndicated show (a number of which stream online allowing listeners worldwide to tune in). Our thanks to Terrence Reardon for the tip-off.

Coinciding with the sad news that the Judicial Reviews on alleged hacker Gary McKinnon's case did not support his fight against extradition, the promo video for "Chicago/Change The World", the song in support of his cause, was completed and released this afternoon.
As many of you are aware, the song is a cover of the Graham Nash song, as a direct appeal to President Barack Obama. Featuring the vocals, keyboards, electric guitar and bass guitar of David Gilmour, the song also includes vocals from Chrissie Hynde, Bob Geldof, and Gary himself.
To see the promo video, which gives an interesting insight into the recording of the track, and to find out more about what the family intend to do about the latest setback, visit www.DavidGilmour.com where you'll find the video on the home page. Click here to download the single that requires an optional (and much needed) donation in aid of Autism charities - a worthy cause. You can also view the video via Youtube now:
