The announcement simply states: "Rue 21 Productions Presents A Film By Roger Waters and Sean Evans: ROGER WATERS THE WALL", and notes that the world premiere will be held on September 6th, 2014, at the Toronto International Film Festival. The graphic to the left is the image which accompanies the post.

The Toronto International Film Festival runs from September 4th - 14th, and the box office opens on August 31st. Saturday, 16 August 2014

Andy JacksonA week ago, we revealed the upcoming release of Signal To Noise, the new studio album by twice Grammy nominated Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson [right]. The album, which is being released as both a single CD edition and a two-disc digipack deluxe limited edition with a 5.1 surround mix, appears on November 3rd, 2014.

Andy's relationship with Pink Floyd began on the film soundtrack of The Wall, a relationship that continues to this day, resulting in two Grammy nominations for his work and Mix magazine's award for best live sound engineer for the Division Bell tour. He has also worked on solo albums from Roger Waters and David Gilmour, and is also engineer and a co-producer of the yet-to-be-released Pink Floyd album, The Endless River.

The album is being released by Esoteric, and they are offering someone an unique opportunity. They are looking for someone who enjoys making short films to do a video for them to go along with the song "The Boy in the Forest". Anyone interested in participating should send them two examples of other work you have done; Esoteric and Andy himself will then select three people to go ahead and make a short video, using the music which will be sent to them. The finished films will then be up for a fan vote to determine which one is liked best. The winner's film will then be used for promotion. Winner also will get £75 and a signed copy of the album, the two runners up will get £30 and a signed copy.

Those interested in this opportunity should send their examples via the WeTransfer service to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it by August 31st, along with a name and contact email. Good luck and let us know if you're taking part in this!

Pink Floyd Exhibition - Their Mortal Remains postponed Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Monday, 11 August 2014

Some very important news has just arrived concerning the Pink Floyd Exhibition - Their Mortal Remains. Here is the text of the press release:

"Evolve Devolve, the Italian promoters of The Pink Floyd Exhibition, have announced today that the Exhibition, due to start on 19 September 2014 in Milan, has had to be postponed due to production delays. Building the complex Exhibition to the required specification has made it impossible to make the opening date.

"Tickets sales for the Exhibition are currently suspended. Existing ticket purchases will remain valid once the new exhibition dates are announced or can be refunded at point of purchase."

As soon as we have the confirmed, revised dates, or any other information, we will let you know. We know that many of you will be disappointed with the news, especially so close to the opening, and with many of us having already made travel and accommodation bookings, but we're sure it hasn't been a decision taken lightly.

Hipgnosis Portraits: new book from Aubrey "Po" Powell Print E-mail

Hipgnosis Portraits - Aubrey Po PowellReleased on October 20th, 2014 in the UK and Europe (and November 11th in North America) is Hipgnosis Portraits, a new book from Aubrey "Po" Powell looking at the history of the legendary album artwork design team.

In just fifteen years, Hipgnosis (Storm Thorgerson, Po, and Peter Christopherson) established themselves as the most important design collective in music history. Their innovative cover art defines the albums of the biggest names of the late 1960s, 70s and early 80s: AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Peter Gabriel, The Police, Genesis, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, T. Rex, Wings, Yes and XTC, to name just a few. Their iconic designs (which include The Dark Side of the Moon, Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy and The Who's Who's Next) grace a staggering number of major releases. Their boundary-breaking conceptual approach earned them five Grammy nominations for package design, and their influence today can be seen in all creative fields from advertising to fashion.

This new book is divided into two main sections. Part I, Imagination, tells the story behind the cover artwork from germination through to the final sleeve design, supported by a wide array of previously unseen archival materials and text from Aubrey Powell. Part II, Realization, showcases the band portraits themselves, whether album covers or otherwise, in beautiful, large-scale reproductions.

The book promises to be a real treat and showcases many rare pictures, including different shots from Syd Barrett photo sessions, and the creation of the picture-within-picture image for the cover of Pink Floyd's Ummagumma album.

If you want to place your order now, for despatch to you on release, you can do so through these direct links: Amazon UK, Amazon.com, Amazon Canada, Amazon France, Amazon Germany, Amazon Espana and Amazon Italy. New album from Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson Print E-mail

Andy Jackson on Astoria [photo: Mike Banks]Esoteric Antenna has just announced the upcoming release of Signal To Noise, the new studio album by twice Grammy nominated Pink Floyd engineer Andy Jackson. The album, which is being released as both a single CD edition and a two-disc digipack deluxe limited edition with a 5.1 surround mix, appears on November 3rd, 2014.

Esoteric describe the album as "a fine, modern, progressive work, which draws on Andy Jackson's exemplary work as an engineer and producer. Besides being an allusion to Andy's sound engineering background, the title refers to many of the lyrical themes of the album. Andy explains: "The album reflects on the sorting of what is important in life from the humdrum of everyday existence, and is in itself an analogy for the process of the creation of the album".

We hope to have more information, including ordering links, soon, as we're already aware of a fair degree of interest amongst the Floyd community for this release.

UPDATE:
We've been lucky enough to have a sneak preview of the whole album, and we're thoroughly enjoying it. It's a very absorbing listen, and unsurprisingly - bearing in mind Andy's pedigree (and normal employers) - it feels a very Floydian album, both in terms of production and music, in places even bringing to mind Richard Wright's Broken China amongst other things. "The Boy In The Forest", below, should give a flavour of what to expect. You can order it through the following direct links, all resulting in a small but vital contribution toward our site running costs:
