A number of years ago, the film Stamping Ground was subject to release on DVD, being released on the South American market and subsequently - and still - available from various online retailers, including most, if not all, of Amazon's stores. There is also a much more recent edition, which seems to originate from Italy, again common in a number of online stores.
The film, consisting of early concert footage which includes Pink Floyd, Santana and Soft Machine amongst others, has NOT been officially released or sanctioned, and none of the artists involved have provided clearance for its release - or been paid any royalties from the release.
Should the film ever get an official release we will let you know. In the meantime, please be aware that any example of it you see offered will be unofficial/counterfeit, and should be avoided.

Two years ago, the regular StormStudios newsletter referred to the documentary that Storm had been working on (which I had the pleasure to be included as one of Storm's interviewees). Providing some background to the project, they noted then that: "Since the end of 2011 Storm had been very busy filming a documentary with Rupert [Truman] about Pink Floyd's founder member, Syd Barrett. They filmed many interviews including old school friends, flat mates, girlfriends, fellow musicians and all the surviving members of Pink Floyd. So far it's proved a very enlightening experience..."
After Storm's sad passing, the reigns were passed to film maker Roddy Bogawa, following his work on the excellent documentary about Storm (Taken by Storm), which we've talked about elsewhere and is due for a release this autumn.
Over the weekend, some websites posted stories about the documentary, following a piece on the Mojo magazine website. However, before you get too carried away with what has been stated in various places, we've had some clarification from Roddy over the story. "Now the cat is out of the bag, we'd like to clarify a few things - Mojo got a few things wrong - the correct title is 'Have You Got It Yet?' and the film is not being released this summer. We are shooting the last bits and entering the editing stage."
We'll obviously keep you posted on all the confirmed, accurate information on this hotly anticipated documentary, which promises to be a fascinating look at Barrett, but is some way off completion. In the meantime, for all you Facebookers out there, they have just set up a page for the documentary. You can find it at www.facebook.com/haveyougotityet.

The myth of Pink Floyd in Pompeii will be celebrated with a special exhibition that will open in the ancient Italian city of Pompeii on July 4th, 2015 - next Saturday. The event is called "PINK FLOYD LIVE @ POMPEII – THE EXHIBITION' and comes 44 years after the movie by the Scottish director Adrian Maben that in 1971 captured one of the most beautiful performances in the history of Pink Floyd.
This is the first exhibition about the movie organized in the city of Pompeii and will include over 250 photos (a handful of which you will see below) and original memorabilia assembled by Maben with the collaboration of The Lunatics, the cultural association that brings together the most famous collectors of Pink Floyd. Part of the exhibition will be collected in a 48 page catalog made by The Lunatics.
The exhibition, being held in Pompeii's Town Hall from July 4th to 31st, will be completely free. The opening of the exhibition, attended by Maben himself, is set for next Saturday (4th July) at 6pm. During that opening Maben will be awarded with the honorary citizenship of the city of Pompeii.

To coincide with the long awaited and highly anticipated 2015 editions of Roger Waters' 1992 album, Amused To Death, which come in a variety of editions, all boasting new artwork and packaging, on July 24th, 2015, we have news of a one-hour syndicated radio special for our US readers.
The programme will feature an extensive interview with Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters as well as nine tracks from the album. Craig Bailey of Floydian Slip will host the show, which will likely begin airing a week ahead of the release of ATD.
The show, "Roger Waters: Amused to Death" will be made freely available to stations wishing to air it. A list of participating stations hasn't yet been finalized, but we hope to bring you more details once we have them.
If you are yet to place your order for any of the 2015 editions, which are just under one month away, you can do so through the following links, which contribute a small, vital and hugely appreciated amount to help keep Brain Damage running!
