Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

We now know that Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are on their way, with the releases on May 2nd, and the cinema screenings shortly before. NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Pink Floyd The Wall Immersion box set contentsAs most of you know, the next stage of the Why Pink Floyd release programme takes place on February 27th, 2012, with the release of The Wall as an Experience edition, an Immersion box set, and a collectors 180g double vinyl edition. This afternoon, the finalised (and quite fascinating) track listings of all three versions has been revealed, and we detail these below, along with ordering details for those of you who cannot resist any longer!

The seven-disc Immersion edition box set of The Wall is most likely the version most Brain Damage readers will be hoping to get. It includes a DVD featuring a film clip from the 1980 tour and the "Behind The Wall" documentary, plus, for the first time, CDs of excerpts from Roger Waters' original demos and work-in-progress versions of songs on the final album. Additionally, among these previously unheard versions are David Gilmour's original demos of Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell. There's also a fascinating early band version of Another Brick part 1, which is starkly different.

The three-disc Experience edition includes a third CD, bringing together a selection of the demos and work-in-progress tracks found on a pair of discs in the Immersion set.

We also now have the final packshot of the Immersion edition - click the thumbnail to the right to see it in more detail - which reveals some of the printed material and other memorabilia that is included within...

ORDERING DETAILS
Needless to say, we'll be giving these releases our full attention, with reviews and more. With the resumption of Roger's own tour of The Wall, we're sure that these editions will be incredibly popular, and with the limited nature of the Immersion, we'd urge you to get your pre-orders in soon if you want to ensure you get your copy.
