Night six of the tour, and not much longer left in Chicago for Roger and his team. As with the previous nights, the "children's choir" that took part in Another Brick In The Wall (part 2) came from Endure Productions, a Matteson-based song-and dance group. This choir will be taking part on all four nights of the Chicago leg of the tour.

If you went - let us know what you thought of the show, and if anything interesting or different happened if you've been to previous shows and can compare!

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Jens Dam-Libach

What can I say??? The 6th show on the tour was yet again an amazing show.

Was in row 12 on the floor this time. Stuka crash was fantastic tonight and appeared to burst into bigger flames than earlier shows.

Roger seems to be enjoying himself more for every show, also getting more into the role he's playing in the piece. He's addressing the audience more and more for each show. Absolutely amazing to sit (stand really) through all the songs he's performing on his bass. He's just so bloody intense to listen to and look at while performing.

The band is extremely tight by now and you sort of stand there at times thinking about how it's going to sound like when they hit Europe next year (got ticket for 12 shows already). The rawness and explosiveness just keeps on adding up. GE Smith delivered the best solos so far adding small notes to them here and there. Fantastic Another Brick 2 and Mother solos by him. Snowy's Another Brick 2 solo was extremely good tonight and very bluesy. A definate highlight. Dave K's just a killer guitarist. So much good stuff coming out of his guitars. Comfy Numb solo was absolutely amazing and appeared even louder tonight. There's so much other stuff to mention, but......

I've totally forgotten earlier to mention the backing vocal guys. They are so extremely good and has an amazing sound. Can't wait for tomorrows show!!!

Everybody's talking about when Gilmour will show up. I can only hope he'll do the solo soon, as I'm heading home to Copenhagen after the second Boston show.

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Sam Giacobbe

We went to the show in Chicago... I have been to every Floyd, Gilmour, and Roger Waters concert... this one, by far, is the best show I have ever seen. It is absolutely breathtaking... Roger is at his best... WOW!!! He is a genius...

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Steve Kras

The Wall 2010 was magnificent. It was an incredible staging for a masterpiece of modern music. Much more than a rock concert of music with special effects it was I think an opera. The theatrical elements presented thoughtful ideas on the state of humankind in our world. The audience stood from beginning to end. It seemed to me Mr. Waters was happy to be there with his audience of fans. The performance in every way was one of the finest, perhaps the best, I've seen during the past 38 years of live performance attendance.

During intermission, a tribute to the fallen that lost their life through the violence of war projected across the wall. This was not only a tribute it was message to everyone attending and this same message presented in the performance many times. It held my attention and I felt it. The words and music of The Wall are powerful. I feel The Wall will be remembered as a great a masterpiece. In future years, it will be performed again.

In anticipation of the 2010 performance, I listened to the original recording many times over the past few months and yet I feel ready to hear it again and again.

Many thanks to Mr. Waters for organizing this concert tour, the cast of talented artists and the crew that made it happen. It was my good fortune to have been there for this special live performance of The Wall.

While walking away from the venue, a woman walked at my side and asked for directions to the train. She had goggles covering all around her eyes. I did not ask but she told me the goggles were protecting her eyes from dust and wind. She said she was nearly blinded by light and radiation from the explosion of a nuclear bomb. She hoped that she would not go blind and there might be someone who could help her keep her sight. I wished her good luck as she walked away. I think maybe she is a friend of the homeless guy with the shopping cart that walked through the aisles on the venue floor.

CONCERT REVIEW and PICTURES by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Simon Wimpenny

Chicago, 23rd September 2010Our good friend Simon Wimpenny has the incredible fortune to be touring North America over the next few months, taking in most of the concerts on Roger's tour. Yes, he's a bit of a fan (as well as a great guy).

To date, we've been sharing his concert comments and reviews here, but for the third night of the Chicago show, he had a very special experience, which you can read all about at his blog site, and view the various pictures and video, as he ventured BEHIND the wall for the second half of the concert. Check out his quite unique perspective on the event here...and click on the thumbnail, right, for a taster of just what it is like to see what's going on behind the bricks. Simon gets a lot further back too, giving a very special view...

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Steve Bartin

I was at the Chicago show Thursday night. As someone who's seen Pink Floyd and Roger Waters several times: I can easily claim this was the best rock concert I've ever been to. Several other people leaving the show said the same thing. If you aren't close to the stage, don't worry because the show is great from afar. The visuals are stunning. This is like no other concert you've ever seen. Even though Roger played at the United Center in Chicago (where the Chicago Bulls and Blackhawks play) the sound was excellent. Anyone who is a Pink Floyd fan or Roger Waters fan or rock fan: do what you must to see at least one show.

YOUR HELP NEEDED! We want to cover Roger's concerts the best we can, to share the experience with everyone, especially those who won't be able to attend the shows. We'd love to see ANY pictures, tickets scans, reviews, newspaper reports, and anything else you come across for this show - we look forward to hearing from you!
