Last night, Roger Waters headlined the Newport Folk Festival, in Rhode Island, USA. The performance was said - according to early reports - to have been excellent. We've got a review of the show, with some pictures, but in the meantime, here's a bit of detail of the appearance.
Waters was backed by My Morning Jacket who also filled the "unannounced" slot on Friday's Newport Folk schedule. MMJ did their own set before Waters came out with G.E.Smith and Lucius's Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig and opened with a new song, "Crystal Clear Brooks." Waters played piano on this debut, then moved to an acoustic guitar for the rest of the set.
Setlist: Crystal Clear Brooks, Mother, Bravery Of Being Out Of Range, Hello In There, Wish You Were Here (with Sara Watkins), Wide River To Cross (with Levon Helm's daughter Amy), Amused To Death, Brain Damage/Eclipse, Forever Young (with Amy Helm and Sara Watkins).
