WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!
It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!
The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!
There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.
Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release and cinema/IMAX screenings, and a book, 2Blu-ray, 3DVD, 4LP, 2CD and deluxe box set options have now been announced.
The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.
Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Last year, a number of Brain Damage visitors took part in a pair of guided walks of Syd Barrett's Cambridge, run by I-SpySydInCambridge in conjunction with Brain Damage. The walks, tours of the city that took in many of the more significant sites which were connected to the life and times of Syd, and the various bands which lead to Pink Floyd,
provided fascinating and illuminating looks at those early days.
The hosts of the tour - personal friends of Syd, who grew up with him - shared their own memories of school days and beyond with Syd, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, and other Pink Floyd illumni who lived and worked in Cambridge. They partnered with us for those two very special tours, and due to the success and enjoyment experienced on the walks, decided to run THREE special tours of Syd's Cambridge with us this year, and with available places being snapped up, we thought it a good time to remind those who haven't yet booked their spots, before they are all gone!
The dates for 2011 are: June 18th, July 16th, and September 10th - all Saturdays. As with the 2010 tours, some special guests are again being lined up. Should all be great days and not to be missed!

, the chief guide, to book your place(s) on the tour or tours of your choice. After Warren confirms your place, he will then trust you to turn up on the day and pay then. Warren said "Let's bring a little trust into this cynical world!"
All tours meet at the front of the Guildhall, Market Square, right in the middle of Cambridge, and start at 10.30am, so if you will be travelling to Cambridge, make sure you give yourself enough time so that you don't miss the start. The railway station is about a 10-15 minute walk from the city centre, and there are plenty of car parks if you are driving in. Alternatively, if you are driving to Cambridge, you can take advantage of one of the five Park and Ride sites situated around the edge of the city - park for free and hop on a bus into town.
The tours are meant to last about two hours but in reality it's always nearer three hours (or more), as the memories and stories start flowing from those who really knew Syd and the others.
Don't miss this great opportunity to discover Syd's city. For more information on the tours, the guides, and what to expect, visit their recently updated website at www.I-SpySydInCambridge.com.
