Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1968WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Storm Thorgerson Pink Floyd prints - exclusive Brain Damage discount Print E-mail

rockarchive logo Our friends at Rockarchive have been in contact regarding limited edition Pink Floyd fine art prints that they publish. In 1998, renowned photographer Jill Furmanovsky, who has worked with Pink Floyd set up the company following in the footsteps of Magnum. The idea behind it was to make her work, and that of other rock photographers and visual artists, more accessible to fans and collectors.

Many collectors seek out Rockarchive's embossed fine-art prints as an investment. Some images have increased ten fold in value since they were first published.

We've joined forces with our friends at Rockarchive to give Brain Damage visitors an exclusive chance to receive 10% off purchases of a selected range of high quality prints, shown below.

All the images within this special 10% discount offer are Storm Thorgerson creations, and are all rare images that have seldom been seen elsewhere. The images (with the exception of the two black and white group photos) are from an edition called AV40. These are alternative versions of actual album/single covers that were used, outtakes, or ideas Storm had during the artwork process that for some reason didn't get chosen for the final artwork.

In order to get your exclusive BD discount, you need to enter a special promotional code during the purchase. In the Checkout section there is an option to enter such a code: you need to type in STORMDAMAGE. This will make the appropriate adjustment to give the 10% discount on the image(s) you have selected.

The full range of Pink Floyd prints that Rockarchive have on offer, which is increasing in number all the time, can be found through this link; the following prints are the ones which qualify for the Brain Damage discount. Click the thumbnails to view in more detail:

Pink Floyd band pictures -

Two black and white group photos taken by Storm Thorgerson himself, which is very rare as he has never been keen on a simple photograph. These are rare pieces of music history in photograph form...

Division Bell (two metal heads) -

Storm: "Pink Floyd decided for Division Bell that they liked both metal and stone versions of the two heads and therefore told us to build both. Two heads, two sets of sculptures each the size of a house, same but different. The metal heads were constructed to resemble the making of an aeroplane, and we photographed many times in different weather.

"The two favourite shots involved lights on the one hand and red flags on the other to represent the lines of communication between the heads, and it was the lights that were used on the album cover. However, I always liked the flags version because the sky was so ominous, making the heads more imposing".

Storm has yet to give Rockarchive a caption for this as it has literally just been approved and added.

Momentary Lapse of Reason Poster -

Storm: "700 iron beds made up and positioned on the beach. This differs from the original image used on the poster because it was taken when the tide was coming in and the beds were becoming submersed."
