Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1968WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release and cinema/IMAX screenings, and a book, 2Blu-ray, 3DVD, 4LP, 2CD and deluxe box set options have now been announced.

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Remember That Night previewWith thanks to our friends over at EMI and David Gilmour's management, we can now bring you a tantalising, high quality video preview for the forthcoming 2DVD or 2-disc Bluray set, "Remember That Night". Lasting over five minutes, it is well worth checking out!

It is a recording of the stunning three nights David, his band, and special guests (including Nick Mason, Robert Wyatt and David Bowie) spent at London's Royal Albert Hall at the end of May 2006. The DVD is released in Europe on Monday, September 17th, and in North America the following day, Tuesday, September 18th, and for the Bluray set, the European (EMI) version appears in selected countries on November 26th, and the US (Sony BMG) version on November 20th.

The preview shows the preparations for the concerts, including stage set-up and rehearsals - in particular getting David Bowie up to speed on how best to sing Comfortably Numb. There's also a really amusing sequence backstage with Bowie revealing the first time he saw Pink Floyd live!

You'll also get to see extracts from various songs, and some interview footage with DG talking about how an earlier performance at the Royal Albert Hall landed them with a ban for "life"!

Looks like a GREAT job has been done, and we're in for a real treat when the DVD itself arrives! Please note, the screenshots are from the streams above, and not the DVD. Shot in high definition, the final product should look truly wonderful...

There will be high-resolution versions in both Blu-Ray and HD-DVD to follow the standard release - we'll advise the dates of these when we have them.

Details of the full contents have been slowly being released at David's own website (www.DavidGilmour.com) so check there regularly.

In the meantime, Amazon have started taking preorders for the DVD (with a discount) through the following special links: Amazon US/International, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, or Amazon France.

And, there's the making of 'On An Island', an edit of the EPK but with some extra songs on it.

If that's not enough, his blog have also revealed the following as well:

- The tracks 'Castellorizon', 'On An Island', 'The Blue', 'Take A Breath' and 'High Hopes', from London's Mermaid Theatre (March 2006), will be included.
- 'Astronomy Domine', as recorded for the 'Live From Abbey Road' television series, is on there...
- As is 'This Heaven' from the AOL Sessions. (This has been re-edited, by the way, so is an improvement on the version that can be found on the 'Live And In Session' disc.)
- The 'Dark Globe' video that they've been showing on the website is included.
- The promo videos for 'On An Island' and 'Smile' are also on there.
- There's a new version of 'Island Jam', featuring David, Richard, Stevie and Guy.
- There is also a photo gallery.

So, make sure you place your order for the DVD now, and you should get it around the day of release!
