Released yesterday (February 12th), "Van Morrison At The Movies: Soundtrack Hits" is an entertaining compilation of some of the best moments of Van The Man's career, which may surprise some as to how many key movie songs he has contributed.

For Roger Waters fans, the album is significant as it includes him too!

Many of you will recall that Van did the vocals on Comfortably Numb when Roger staged The Wall in spectacular fashion in the heart of Berlin, in 1990. Recently, Martin Scorcese decided to use this very performance in his critically-acclaimed movie "The Departed", which has brought the song to a whole newgeneration of people.

From looking at the track listing, it is interesting to note how many key moments are accented by Van's distinctive songs... and to note that how many of the songs have become much better known than the moviesthey appeared in.
