Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1968WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Roger Waters The Wall - expanded two-disc Blu-ray special editionReleased this week are the various iterations of Roger Waters The Wall - Roger's highly anticipated movie of his Wall tour, which ran from 2010-2013, coupled with footage of his "road trip", visiting sites and areas where his father and grandfather fought and died. The film was shown around the world in selected cinemas on September 28th, and since then, some cinemas have had further showings (including tonight, particularly in Italy). This release has been a very popular topic of conversation, with dozens of emails arriving with us every week. Hopefully the details below of contents will help answer questions for those who haven't been in touch!

To celebrate the release, and to give Brain Damage visitors a sneak peak at what the video formats offer, we have an exclusive time lapse video from the Buenos Aires performances, showing just how much effort is made in the construction of staging for an event like this.

As a reminder, Roger Waters The Wall is released this week as a digital download, as a DVD, a Blu-ray, and a 2-disc Blu-ray special edition. The physical editions are now available to order through selected outlets, and we have details below of what each edition contains, and where you can get them from. There is also an audio release: an album of Roger Waters The Wall on triple vinyl (3LP) or double CD, via Sony Music. For those with a healthier bank balance, there is also the Super Deluxe Edition, which is limited to 3000 signed copies, exclusively from Roger's online store at $500 plus tax, shipping, and - for some - import duties as it is shipped from the US. This includes some extra items, currently unavailable elsewhere, including a book and additional Blu-ray, and the score on vinyl, all in a custom box.

Full details of each regular edition are below, but without further ado, here's the video, which can also be seen on Brain Damage UK's new Vimeo Channel:

For those who haven't yet seen it, Roger Waters The Wall, written and directed by Roger Waters and Sean Evans, combines an immersive and undeniably epic concert experience of the classic Pink Floyd album, a road movie of Waters' reckoning with the past, and an anti-war protest film, highlighting the human cost of conflict. Roger said: "I'm glad that we have an opportunity to share the film with people on a wider scale. It has had a deep effect on my life; and I'm not the only one. This release provides an opportunity to remember all of our fallen loved ones."

Shot during the sold out tour, which was seen by over 4 million fans at 219 shows, the show was the highest grossing tour by any solo artist in history. The film, shot in 4k and mixed in Dolby Atmos, features concert footage from this incredible tour, and serves as a great reminder of just how good the production was.
