Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

We now know that Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are on their way, with the releases on May 2nd, and the cinema screenings shortly before. NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Roger Waters teases October US mega-concert at Coachella site Print E-mail

One of lesser well-kept rumours has been the concert to be held from October 7th to 9th, 2016, at the Coachella festival site, Indio, California. When initial chatter started up about the show, the line-up - Roger Waters, The Who, Neil Young, Paul McCartney, Bob Dylan and The Rolling Stones - seemed like someone's bizarre fantasy. After all, who is going to want to take second billing each of the three days?

However, guards soon dropped, and some of those involved (including Roger Daltrey) started making mention of it as a confirmed event. Daltrey said: "It's a fantastic idea for a festival. It's the greatest remains of our era. It's a great idea. I just hope a lot of normal fans can get tickets before they get snatched up."

Last night, things went up a gear with the release from Waters, Dylan and The Who, of their own, separate teasers which simply had "October" as a caption. Dylan's included his vocal of "Something is happening here, but you don't know what it is...", The Who's used My Generation (the suggestion is that it's the last big concert of their generation before passing the baton on to the younger bands), and Roger? He posted this:

Obviously, as details get released (and with the arrival of this teaser yesterday, it can't be long before more is revealed) we will bring you all the information. Safe to say, whilst the tickets are likely to be extremely pricey, there's incredible value there, and if you can make it to California on those dates, you are sure to have a very memorable time...
