Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1968WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Richard Wright at Magny-Cours? Print E-mail

Nick Mason has been spending the weekend in Paris, and in a press conference on Friday, hinted that Richard Wright could be joining him as guest musicians for Roger Waters' concert at Magny-Cours, France.

The press conference was held in the office of the French Federation of Sport Automobile (FFSA), as part of the promotion for the special performance of Pink Floyd's classic album, Dark Side of the Moon, being held during the weekend celebrating the century of the Grand Prix de France.

Nick declared that he was so happy to take part in this concert, and it's great for him because it's “the marriage of [my] two main passions: music and Formula One”. He also announced that "all fans of Pink Floyd could expect to see Richard Wright at this concert". It was made clear that it is not confirmed, but certainly still possible that three of the four members play together at the show.

UPDATE, June 6th: Richard today made it clear that he is NOT attending this show.

Concerning David Gilmour, Nick was pessimistic and was quoted as saying that now, it was just David that stood in the way of a re-formation of the band. “David is as Roger was, 20 years before!” and also noted that he (David) was still very busy with his solo album.

Also at the press conference, and shown in the picture here, was Laurent Voulzy, a very popular French singer, also on the bill for the concert. Voulzy said that he was a fan of Pink Floyd, and it was an honour to play on the same stage.

Nick Mason will drive in the Le Mans Classic, one week before the 14th July, with his daughters and his wife, but will drive in a different car to them.

To help the promotion of the French Formula one Grand Prix, the FFSA organised an exhibition of F1 at the Champs Elysées during this weekend. This morning (June 4th), the organisation closed the road for a tour of 9 km that took in: Champs Elysées, Concorde, Invalides, Tour Eiffel.

Obviously, Nick Mason who was still in Paris, was invited to drive an authentic Bugatti which has competed in a lot of Grand Prix.
