Pink Floyd's "The Gunner's Dream" to appear in new animated movie Print E-mail

This week a coup happened for independent film-makers GB Hajim and Shelley Doty. Roger Waters gave permission for them to use The Gunner’s Dream in their 85-minute feature length animated movie "strange frame". It is a rare honour, being allowed to have Pink Floyd's music in a dramatic film - many have asked over the years, but few have managed it.

Set in the 29th century, the film-makers describe the movie as "2001: A Space Odyssey with the rich texturing of Japanese manga / anime like Ghost in the Shell meets Alan Parker’s Pink Floyd: The Wall and The Commitments". Featuring a genetically modified human race living on Ganymede, one of Jupiter’s moons, the story concerns a pair of musicians, and their turbulent story...

"strange frame" is currently in production, and is due to be released in 2009 with a soundtrack album. More information can be found at strangeframe.com, on Wikipedia, and a short documentary can be seen here. And, to give a flavour, here are some images from the production:
