Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1968WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Pink Floyd The Wall Rockline radio broadcast - USA, Wednesday night Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Monday, 29 November 2004

For our friends in the USA and Canada, tomorrow night promises quite a treat on a number of radio stations nationwide. Roger Waters' acclaimed masterpiece, Pink Floyd's The Wall, celebrates its 25th anniversary today, and tomorrow the Rockline people are broadcasting a special show looking at the project in detail. Here's what their run-down of the show states...

The day before this tribute airs will mark the 25th Anniversary of one of Rock's landmark achievements, Pink Floyd's "The Wall". Since its release November 30, 1979 two and one half decades ago, it has sold close to 25 million copies averaging a million a year. The accompanying concert with Pink Floyd's Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright was only performed in three cities due to the mammoth production required. The movie, "The Wall" directed by Alan Parker and starring Bob Geldof, was first released in 1982 and has been subsequently re-released on DVD.

In 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Roger Waters assembled a literal cast of thousands to celebrate the newfound peace and the reunification of Berlin. Staged in the former "no man's land" of Potsdamer Platz the concert featured a stunning line up of guests including Van Morrison, Bryan Adams, Scorpions, Marianne Faithful, Tim Curry, Albert Finney, Thomas Dolby, Germany's Ute Lemper, Cyndi Lauper, Garth Hudson and The Band, Joni Mitchell, James Galway, The Soviet Military Marching Band, the 150 person East Berlin Choir and scores more. Not to mention a production on the same scale of assembling an 8 story building. The North American radio broadcast was hosted by ROCKLINE'S Bob Coburn, Los Angeles radio personality Jim Ladd and New York's Ray White.

This incredible Encore is taken from multiple ROCKLINE archive shows featuring Waters, Gilmour and Mason and provides a glimpse into the actual recording of the album, the movie and the historic Berlin performance in front of over 250,000 people. Did the album have secret messages? Does the end segue into the beginning? What did Gilmour think of the Berlin performance? Was the Pink Floyd split simply musical? Was extra music recorded for the movie? If so, what has happened to it? You'll hear all the answers and lots more when you listen to this amazing show.

It's a Pink Floyd fan and history buff cornucopia of conversation and music. Don't miss our 25th Anniversary salute to The Wall, only on the next ROCKLINE!

For details of your local radio station which will host the show, check out the affiliates page on the Rockline Radio site.
