WOW - it's now the 27th YEAR of Brain Damage, your Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett, Richard Wright and Roger Waters news resource!
Marking the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's iconic 1975 album, a range of Wish You Were Here 50 celebratory editions: deluxe box set, blu-ray, 3LP set, 2CD set and coloured vinyl single LPs came out at the end of last year. Full details here. The LA 1975 concert, recorded by Mike Millard and remastered by Steven Wilson, came out as a standalone item on 4LP for Record Store Day, and 2CD across most of the world.
The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, and digital was also released in 2025 - and is NOT to be missed. As is the 4K UltraHD edition out now!
Also last year, celebrating the concerts to coincide with David Gilmour's album, Luck and Strange, cinema/IMAX screenings, and a book, 2Blu-ray, 3DVD, 4LP, 2CD and deluxe box set options were also released and are getting very high praise.
The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's their RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.
Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too much longer before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital which is out now.

Pink Floyd's contribution to British music has been snubbed by the BRIT Award committee, which Virgin Radio's Ben Jones has called "scandalous"!
To mark the forthcoming 25th ceremony in the history of the BRIT Awards, a panel made up of members of the music industry and media came up with a shortlist of 25 singles, all of which performed by a British act since 1977. BBC Radio 2 listeners will be asked to vote for their top five favourites from the 25.
However, the shortlist has raised many eyebrows for the strange inclusions, and even stranger exclusions...
Here's what the BRIT committee have come up with:
Heroes, David Bowie
We Are The Champions, Queen
Wuthering Heights, Kate Bush
Night Fever, Bee Gees
London Calling, Clash
Love Will Tear Us Apart, Joy Division
That's Entertainment, The Jam
I Don't Want To Talk About It, Rod Stewart
Look of Love, ABC
Golden Brown, The Stranglers
True, Spandau Ballet
Careless Whisper, George Michael
Holding Back The Years, Simply Red
Sledgehammer, Peter Gabriel
Sacrifice, Elton John
Unfinished Sympathy, Massive Attack
Why, Annie Lennox
Fields of Gold, Sting
Kiss From A Rose, Seal
Wonderwall, Oasis
Angels, Robbie Williams
Yellow, Coldplay
Babylon, David Gray
Leave Right Now, Will Young
Dry Your Eyes, The Streets
In a reaction to this, 20,000 music fans have contributed to an alternate listing, hosted by Virgin Radio. Artists such as Will Young, Simply Red, Seal and Spandau Ballet are nowhere to be seen - instead the voters chose songs such as Come On Eileen by Dexy’s Midnight Runners, Blue Monday by New Order, Relax by Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Another Brick In The Wall by Pink Floyd, Vienna by Ultravox and Tainted Love by Soft Cell.
Only four songs survive from the Brits list: Golden Brown by The Stranglers, Wonderwall by Oasis, Angels by Robbie Williams and Babylon by David Gray.
Virgin Radio’s Ben Jones said: “I would always back the British public over some so-called experts and our list proves that the people seem to have a better ear for a great record. How they could fail to include Relax, Tainted Love, Come On Eileen and Vienna is beyond me, and to forget Another Brick In The Wall is just scandalous.”
Here's the Virgin Radio Top 25:
Oliver’s Army – Elvis Costello (1979)
Cool For Cats – Squeeze (1979)
Another Brick In The Wall – Pink Floyd (1979)
Going Underground – The Jam (1980)
Ashes To Ashes – David Bowie (1980)
Romeo and Juliet – Dire Straits (1981)
Vienna – Ultravox (1981)
Ghost Town – The Specials (1981)
Tainted Love – Soft Cell (1981)
Don’t You Want Me – Human League (1981)
It Must Be Love – Madness (1981)
Golden Brown – Stranglers (1982)
Come On Eileen – Dexy’s Midnight Runners (1982)
Should I Stay Or Should I Go – The Clash (1982)
Sweet Dreams – Eurythmics (1983)
Blue Monday – New Order (1983)
Every Breath You Take – The Police (1983)
The Love Cats – The Cure (1983)
Relax – Frankie Goes To Hollywood (1983)
