WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!
It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!
The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!
There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.
Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!
The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.
Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Wendy Bannister, wife of the
legendary concert promotor Freddy Bannister, has contacted us with
details of another box set offer that they have put together especially
for Brain Damage, which takes a retrospective look at the concerts they
promoted with the likes of Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin playing.

PINK FLOYD AND OTHERS AT BATH
FESTIVAL, FEATURED IN BOX SET |
This set looks at the 1969 and
1970 Bath Festivals, and the 1971 Lincoln Festival. It also looks, via
the book included, at a whole range of Bannister-promoted concerts in
the late sixties and early seventies. Pink Floyd performed at the 1970
Bath Festival, playing Atom Heart Mother with a full orchestra.
Here's what the limited edition of 200, signed and numbered by Freddy Bannister, commemorative box set includes:
- The tickets, handbills and
programmes from the following festivals (the original programmes,
handbills and tickets are now almost impossible to locate and would
cost in total over £1,000 - if you could find them):
- 1969 Bath featuring Led Zeppelin, John Mayall and Pete Green
- 1970 Bath featuring Pink Floyd
(where they premiered Atom Heart Mother), Led Zeppelin, Jefferson
Airplane, Santana, Steppenwolf, Johnny Winter, Frank Zappa, The Byrds,
Canned Heat, Fairport Convention, Country Joe, Hot Tuna and John Mayall
with Pete Green
- 1971 Lincoln Festival with James Taylor and The Byrds
- A 330 page hardback book by
Freddy Bannister all about promoting in the sixties and his first ever
gigs with Pink Floyd at various small halls in England
- An album of 28 photos of the festivals, mainly backstage at 1970 Bath
- A handbill from The Pavilion, Bath 1963 advertising The Beatles forthcoming appearance
- And as a special gift the following 6 CDs and a DVD:
- 1 x 75 mins CD of
Pink Floyd live at the BBC, including Green Is The Colour, Careful With
That Axe Eugene, A Saucerful Of Secrets, Set The Controls For The Heart
Of The Sun, Atom Heart Mother
- A 3 CD set live from the 1970
Bath Festival with Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, Johnny Winter, Jefferson
Airplane, Frank Zappa, Steppenwolf, Santana, The Byrds, Canned Heat,
John Mayall, Donovan, Hot Tuna, Country Joe
- 1 CD from the 1971 Lincoln Festival of The Byrds, James Taylor
- A DVD of the BBC interviewing
Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee which ends with them performing in the
back of their limo on the way to the 1971 Lincoln festival. It also
includes various BBC interviews with the performers from this festival
plus some great crowd shots etc. (very rare - they have only just
discovered it - even the BBC no longer have a copy)
The cost of the set is normally
£75, plus £7.50 in the UK and £20 to the States, and is on their
website at this price, but especially for Brain Damage visitors, this
is reduced by £10 to £65 - a good saving, and you also get a selection
of CDs and a DVD that come with this special Brain Damage edition. To
