Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

We now know that Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are on their way, with the releases on May 2nd, and the cinema screenings shortly before. NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets Live At The Roundhouse

The pair of Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets shows at London's Roundhouse on May 3rd and 4th last year brought the band's story - at that stage - nicely full circle. The previous May (12 months prior) saw the first public performance of Nick's new band, in Camden, North London. For that performance, it was in front of just 500 friends, family and fans, at Dingwall's. One year later, the success of the venture thus far meant that a handful of cameras filmed the Aylesbury show and the first of these Roundhouse gigs, with a grand total of 18(!) cameras were pressed into action for the second night at the Roundhouse.

These included remotely operated cameras, and one suspended on wires which flew back and forth above the audience. The result of this expensive and challenging filming and recording exercise (cameras were positioned to minimise any impact on the audience) is announced this afternoon with Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets: Live At The Roundhouse coming on April 17th, 2020. UPDATE: this has now been postponed until September 18th, 2020, due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Released through Sony Records, it is being made available as a 2CD/DVD package, on double vinyl and on Blu-ray. They include the show in its entirety, and the video formats include some additional footage too including interviews and rehearsals. Pre-orders are now being taken, and links to these are shown below. To give you a flavour of this release, here's the new, three-minute trailer that has been created to promote it:

For a full viewing of Live At The Roundhouse, it has also been announced that there will be exclusive screenings coming to cinemas in selected cities worldwide for one night only on March 10th, 2020 - details of participating cinemas can be found at NickMasonFilm.com where tickets can also be purchased. This theatrical event will also include a pre-recorded cinema exclusive Q&A with Nick Mason and the band where they will answer questions submitted by fans.
