Pink Floyd 1968WOW - it's now the 27th YEAR of Brain Damage, your Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett, Richard Wright and Roger Waters news resource!

Marking the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's iconic 1975 album, a range of Wish You Were Here 50 celebratory editions: deluxe box set, blu-ray, 3LP set, 2CD set and coloured vinyl single LPs came out at the end of last year. Full details here. The LA 1975 concert, recorded by Mike Millard and remastered by Steven Wilson, came out as a standalone item on 4LP for Record Store Day, and 2CD across most of the world.

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, and digital was also released in 2025 - and is NOT to be missed. As is the 4K UltraHD edition out now!

Also last year, celebrating the concerts to coincide with David Gilmour's album, Luck and Strange, cinema/IMAX screenings, and a book, 2Blu-ray, 3DVD, 4LP, 2CD and deluxe box set options were also released and are getting very high praise.

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's their RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too much longer before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital which is out now.

Nick Mason's Inside Out limited edition from Genesis Publications Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Monday, 11 July 2005

As we reported back on February 9th, and April 8th, specialist book publishers Genesis Publications have collaborated with Nick Mason, producing a very special limited edition of his fantastic book, "Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd".

Genesis have taken 500 of the First Edition of the book, re-bound them in leather, got them signed by Nick and included in a 'box of delights' designed and assembled by Storm Thorgerson, who will also sign this unique limited edition box set. Only 500 sets will be available, and will be offered initially to existing Genesis customers.

They have today announced that orders are now being taken for this very special edition, which will be available from September this year, from Genesis-Publications.com, now priced at £750 plus shipping. Full details of the edition, as described by Genesis themselves, are shown below.

Nick had this to say about the edition: "I bought the original Derek Taylor book (Fifty Years Adrift) from Genesis and loved it - since then I've collected a number of their books and never been disappointed... I wouldn't like Brian (Roylance) to get big-headed about this, but I was rather honoured to be asked if I'd like my book Genesised."

The Genesis website includes pictures from the photoshoot Storm did, for the new cover image. Storm directed the shoot at Syon House in London on 19th April 2005, and uses the highly polished mirrored balls as previously seen in the Interstellar exhibition poster.

DETAILS OF THE CONTENTS
Each strong presentation box is handmade in buckram to a design specification which securely holds in place all the fascinating elements of this unique collectors' edition. An image created by Storm Thorgerson is set into the front above a silver foiled logo. The spine lettering is also in silver foil.

A full leather bound numbered and signed copy of Nick Mason's highly acclaimed book "Inside Out, a personal history of Pink Floyd". Each copy is hand bound in goatskin by the craftsmen at The Abbey Bookbindery. A full colour image created especially for the limited edition is set into the front cover.

The page edges are silver foiled and there is silver tooling on the spine and front.

In his 3,500 word monograph booklet (exclusive to this boxed set), Nick describes with considerable wit his new experiences as a successful author. He writes about the rest of the band's reaction to the book but the real humour comes from his recollections of his book-promotional activities in various countries. This is printed on acid-free heavy cartridge stock.

There are two fine art prints, size 20' x 15'. They are both created and signed and numbered by Storm Thorgerson. Each one is silk-screened in 27 colours on Somerset tub sized 410gsm paper, by Coriander Studios. Each is a superb collector's item in its own right.

To demonstrate his commitment and enthusiasm for the project, Nick Mason has kindly coughed up 500 assorted Pink Floyd backstage passes from his personal collection - there are at least 7 different kinds of backstage pass. One pass to each box.

One minute a fine art print, the next a T-shirt design. Was Picasso this adventurous? Another exquisite creation from Storm. A great shirt too, one size (medium) only. Colour: mushroom.

There's also a woolly hat with 'Hi' logo. So, it's a hi hat. Storm's idea of course. Warm in winter but like the T-shirt, you probably won't want to take it out of the box.

What else in the box? A pair of American hickory drumsticks prepared for Nick Mason especially for this edition by Pro-Mark. Also a drum key with lanyard and Paiste cymbal badge/tiepin.

You may not receive the same backstage pass as another subscriber and you most definitely won't receive the same Polaroid print. That's because we've taken 500 different shots of Nick at work on the project. So the Polaroid in your box is unique to your boxed set. By now we hope that you'll agree that this is a very impressive box of delights. As usual with Genesis products, the quality is second to none.

Finally, to ensure there's no spare space, there's a set of 12 postcards in a hard cover wallet, depicting the band in various incarnations, together with more imagery including alternative versions from Storm.

An incredible collection of "antiques and curios" to use a phrase from the band's back catalogue. Nice to have the unique touches of Nick's own backstage passes and an individual polaroid of Nick hard at work.

Place your order now, before it is too late, through www.genesispublications.com.
