Pink Floyd 1968WOW - it's now the 27th YEAR of Brain Damage, your Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett, Richard Wright and Roger Waters news resource!

Marking the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's iconic 1975 album, a range of Wish You Were Here 50 celebratory editions: deluxe box set, blu-ray, 3LP set, 2CD set and coloured vinyl single LPs came out at the end of last year. Full details here. The LA 1975 concert, recorded by Mike Millard and remastered by Steven Wilson, came out as a standalone item on 4LP for Record Store Day, and 2CD across most of the world.

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, and digital was also released in 2025 - and is NOT to be missed. As is the 4K UltraHD edition out now!

Also last year, celebrating the concerts to coincide with David Gilmour's album, Luck and Strange, cinema/IMAX screenings, and a book, 2Blu-ray, 3DVD, 4LP, 2CD and deluxe box set options were also released and are getting very high praise.

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's their RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too much longer before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital which is out now.

Nick Mason records Beatles classic at Abbey Road today for charity album Print E-mail

BBC Children in Need - PudseyNick Mason was amongst the stars assembling today at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios to help record a charity version of a Beatles classic. Nick has been joined by a host of others, including former Rolling Stone Bill Wyman, Peter Gabriel, and Bryan Ferry, to record their bit, and finalise the recording.

The "supergroup" came together to perform a version of All You Need Is Love, which will be used on the forthcoming Bandaged Together album that will be raising money for Children In Need. Read on for details of what Nick thinks about Abbey Road, how the project came about, how you can get your hands on a Children in Need bandana signed by Nick, and where you'll be able to buy the album...

Hellen Bach from the TOGs, who are organising the project, said: "Stars are giving us their time and their talent. We are eternally grateful as are the children who will benefit from their efforts."

Sir Terry Wogan, veteran broadcaster, added: "Last year thanks to the TOGs we raised about £3 million for Children In Need. We had Bandaged One which sold an awful lot and made hundreds of thousands of pounds for the charity. The idea this year is Bandaged Two and we are hoping to raise even more money."

Nick said there was always a special atmosphere attached to the studios: "In terms of musical importance this place would rank somewhere between Hampton Court and the Houses of Parliament. The greats have all been here and the place just exudes atmosphere. I was lucky enough to see the Beatles recording here and it was literally like watching royalty."

The proceeds of the sale of the album will benefit the BBC Children in Need Appeal, and follow on the great success of the first Bandaged album which raised over £250,000 for the charity. With such great artists as Nick giving their time freely to help the cause the organisers hope to raise even more money this year.

The album will be on sale in their on-line shop, where they will accept orders from overseas, and they are looking at a distribution deal at the moment which will see it in high street and on-line stores, possibly as a download as well.

Filming took place today for the "Making Of" video that will be broadcast on BBC TV in the UK during the Children in Need appeal in November.

There will be a chance to bid in an auction in November (on eBay in conjunction with BBC Children in Need) for a signed Pudsey and the Children in Need Bandana signed by Nick. More details of all of this, when we have it for you - keep an eye on www.Bandaged.org.uk as well, as this is the official site for the project.

Our thanks to Norman from the organisers for his invaluable help.
