Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1968WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Nick Mason "Inside Out" - signed book orders Print E-mail
Written by Matt

Nick Mason's wonderful new book "Inside Out - A Personal History Of Pink Floyd" is selling well, helped by the interviews and appearances that Nick has made in promotion of the tome. We now have full details of how UK Brain Damage visitors can order a signed, dedicated copy of the book!

We've had a load of emails from people all over, who would like a personalised, signed copy of the book, but have been unable to attend one of the signing sessions. This is the perfect chance for you to get hold of one!

Please be aware that any books ordered now won't be delivered in time for Christmas. Nick and his team are taking a well-earned break, and will tackle any new orders in January when they return from holiday. You can still submit your orders, and any queries, but you will need to be patient and wait for the response when they return to the office.

At the moment, orders are ONLY being taken for UK delivery. Nick and co are aware that many people all over the world would like a signed copy, and have been looking into the possibilities and logistics of this. One of the problems is the sheer weight of the book, making it a very expensive book to send through the mail. If/when it becomes possible to send it overseas, we will of course include full details of this, too.

If you are in the UK, then, simply download the form from the link in the side bar menu of the site, and complete your details, faxing the form through to the number given. You can elect for first class recorded delivery, or if you want to save a bit of money, pick the book up from West London. You can pay by credit card, Switch card, or cheque. This offer is only for a limited time... so get your order in quickly!

Don't forget, too, that Nick is appearing in a one-off show at the Belfast Festival, spending the evening talking Floyd. Some tickets are still available for this show, this coming Monday, November 1st, which promises to be a fascinating, hilarious evening.

There is also a huge interview with Nick due to appear in the December issue of Word Magazine - the editor has promised us that it will be a fascinating read, and will be providing us with full details very shortly. The street date of the magazine is scheduled as November 11th, but might be available earlier. We'll keep you posted on this!

Amazon are shipping the book just as quickly as they are getting stocks in - it is selling very well indeed! Helped, we guess, with them at time of writing offering a huge 40% discount on the book with free shipping, in some countries! It can be ordered through our special links at Amazon.co.uk, Canada, France, Germany, or USA (this edition out April 2005).
