Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

We now know that Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are on their way, with the releases on May 2nd, and the cinema screenings shortly before. NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Nick Mason at Tsunami concert - video clips now available Print E-mail
Written by Matt

Pink Floyd's drummer Nick Mason spared some time in February to take part in a charity concert in aid of the Tsunami appeal. The concert, held at the Olympiad in Chippenham, Wiltshire, England, on February 5th, was a big draw, despite the presence of Nick not being known until he walked on stage.

We posted some information and a selection of exclusive pictures on February 21st, 23rd, and April 1st. With much thanks to one of the organisers, Chris McCormack (aka Mac), we can now bring you the news of more pictures, and also where you can download video footage of Nick performing both songs from the night - "I Saw Her Standing There" and "You Really Got Me"!

If you visit their website - www.maideforasia.org.uk - you can download the songs. The first clip is "...Standing There" and is around 21MB; the second is "You Really Got Me" and that's a fairly sizable 66MB. However, Nick's drumming comes across strongly, and the camera focuses on him throughout the performances, with little deviation to the other performers. The band as a whole is a good tight unit, and the songs are very enjoyable, so if you have a fast connection to the internet, definitely worth downloading.

There are also eleven pictures of Nick with various performers and guests, to be found on the site. These are all informal backstage snaps - most of the pictures we've featured on our site of the concert itself cannot be found elsewhere!

Our thanks again to Mac (Chris McCormack) for his help... and congratulations to Mac and the others for the superb amount they raised for Tsunami relief!
