Further to our news last week concerning the performances of Roland's Petit's "Pink Floyd Ballet", performed by the Asami Maki Ballet company of Tokyo, in Paris, France, we've now been told that the show will also be going to Barcelona, Spain, this week!

Appearing from September 1st, through to September 4th, the performances will be taking place at Teatre Tivoli, Casp 10, Barcelona. Tickets are on sale from the venue and other normal outlets.

As with the Paris shows, the show (a new production based on the foundation of the existing show) features Lucia Lacarra and Cyril Pierre taking the principal roles in this contemporary ballet based on the songs of Pink Floyd.

The Asami Maki Ballet are reputed to be one of the top companies in the world, and their shows are always well-attended. Tickets tend to sell quickly, especially for the Pink Floyd performances. Original performances of Petit's choreographed show featured Pink Floyd playing the music live. A video of Petit's show was also shown during the opening weekend of the Interstellar exhibition in October 2003.

The ballet company have put together a short video of the 1997 PF Ballet which was put on in Marseille, France. Click here to see the lower quality 64kbps version, or here for the higher bandwidth high quality 300kbps version.

Our thanks to Manel Calza and Marc Malagelada who wrote to us with this news.
