As the reunion of Pink Floyd and Roger Waters at the London Live 8 concert gets closer, we've had some more international TV broadcast details, and also comments from organiser Bob Geldof concerning the Floyd's involvement in the show.

Yesterday, in Rome, Bob Geldof held a press conference for the Italian Live 8 concert being held in the city. Gabriele Cosmelli, from our friends over at Floyd Channel, was there and asked a few questions about the Pink Floyd reunion.

Q: Bob, how long have you been working on the Pink Floyd reunion?

GELDOF: The project of the reunion has gone on and on with the project of the gigs. I started from a declaration from Nick Mason that I saw on the internet; he was answering a question saying that a Pink Floyd reunion was possible just for a big charity event. The live 8 is for sure this kind of event.

Q: Has been harder to convince Roger, David or their lawyers?

GELDOF: It is usually very difficult to put together again a wife and husband; imagine two men like Roger and David! I am really happy that everything worked out in the end and that they will play at Live 8.

Q: How long will their performance be?

GELDOF: Around 15 minutes and they will play 4 songs, well, if we consider that just one of their songs is usually 15 minutes long...

Q: When are they going to play?

GELDOF: They will be the second last.

Q: Are you going to play at the concert?

GELDOF: It is a lot easier to convince Pink Floyd than myself!

A source close to the band has told us three of the four songs, and we cannot see how they will fit them in... so expect the show to overrun a little!
