Pink Floyd 1968WOW - it's now the 27th YEAR of Brain Damage, your Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett, Richard Wright and Roger Waters news resource!

Marking the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's iconic 1975 album, a range of Wish You Were Here 50 celebratory editions: deluxe box set, blu-ray, 3LP set, 2CD set and coloured vinyl single LPs came out at the end of last year. Full details here. The LA 1975 concert, recorded by Mike Millard and remastered by Steven Wilson, came out as a standalone item on 4LP for Record Store Day, and 2CD across most of the world.

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, and digital was also released in 2025 - and is NOT to be missed. As is the 4K UltraHD edition out now!

Also last year, celebrating the concerts to coincide with David Gilmour's album, Luck and Strange, cinema/IMAX screenings, and a book, 2Blu-ray, 3DVD, 4LP, 2CD and deluxe box set options were also released and are getting very high praise.

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's their RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too much longer before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital which is out now.

Gilmour - US interviews and performances Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Monday, 10 April 2006

On Sunday we brought you news of a couple of interviews with David Gilmour on US radio, airing the following day (yesterday) as the guitarist travels around the US/Canada performing his new album and some Pink Floyd classics as well. For those who missed the interviews, including our friends around the world, we have details of how you can hear them on demand.

First though, last week we told you of a special recording session being undertaken by XM Radio, in front of just 30 people - friends, family and a handful of incredibly lucky fans (who must've thought they'd won a Wonka Golden Ticket!). One of those fans present is a Brain Damage regular, and thanks to him, we've got a full report of what transpired, on this site. A very special evening, and one that others will be able to enjoy soon when it is broadcast.

Turning to the interviews, these were both interesting, and David was clearly happy and relaxed. The syndicated, US-wide Bob and Tom Show very quickly posted the interview onto their website - unsurprisingly called BobAndTom.com - it can be found on their home page, and runs for almost eleven minutes. Our thanks to the nice people in the Bob and Tom team for all their help!

For those in the New York area, Q104.3 featured David on Jim Kerr's Rock and Roll Morning Show. That interview can be found on Apple's iTunes service as a podcast to download, or can be streamed, downloaded or podcast from Q1043.com itself. The interview here lasts almost fifteen minutes. Also on the download page, are a selection of older interviews with Roger Waters AND Nick Mason, too. Thanks to Phil Robinson and Michael Kelly for their help with this.

UPCOMING BROADCASTS

The constantly growing DavidGilmour.com (an essential daily stop-off) has revealed that David and his band didn't just record the XM Radio session, but also recorded a performance for broadcast later this month on AOL. The performance was designed for airing on the internet, so features a revised light show from the maestro, Marc Brickman.

The session is scheduled to air from April 21st, on demand, at music.aol.com/videos/sessions.

David's site have also announced that the day before, April 20th, David and co will be appearing on the Jay Leno show, which airs on NBC television at 11:35pm/10:35pm. More information here, and check your local listings too for exact air times.

Those of us in Europe will also get a chance to see this show. CNBC Europe air the show three weekdays after broadcast in the States, (i.e. Monday's episode airs on Thursday). Therefore, David's appearance on there should be shown in Europe on Tuesday April 25th. They air the show at 11pm CET... CNBC Europe airs in most countries; check with your local cable/satellite providers for details. (Thanks to Victor who posted at David's official blog for the head's-up on this).

Finally, our friends in Germany don't get left out of the fun. In the week that it was announced that David succeeded in selling over 100,000 copies of his new album, On An Island, in the country, German radio station WDR2 has announced that it will be airing the excellent show at London's Mermaid Theatre, recorded on March 7th for the BBC. This airs on WDR2 on April 17th, at 6pm.

Our thanks, as always, to Ulrike for his help with this information.
