Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1967WELCOME TO THE 25th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, NICK MASON, DAVID GILMOUR AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

Last year was busy, with things such as the deluxe box set marking the 50th anniversary of The Dark Side Of The Moon, with a new remaster of the album, coupled with a number of other things including books and the Wembley 1974 TDSOTM recording. Some of the elements (including the official book) have also been released separately - full details here. There's also the extremely lovely limited edition, UV printed crystal clear 2LP vinyl edition of TDSOTM...

A long hoped for reissue of Richard Wright's Wet Dream, remixed by Steven Wilson with a new stereo AND surround mix, is out now, and absolutely superb, really bringing a forgotten gem back to life and it sounds better than ever.

It's not that long before we get the UK and European dates announced for the Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour, after the 2022/23 shows managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations!. In the meantime don't forget that there's the live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

David Gilmour's new album, Luck and Strange, has now been announced and is being released on September 6th in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates have also been announced - see all the confirmed David Gilmour concert dates here!

Finally, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Gerald Scarfe - The Making of Pink Floyd The WallUPDATED WITH ADDITIONAL INTERVIEW INFORMATION
Further to our recent exclusives regarding Gerald Scarfe's "The Making of Pink Floyd: The Wall", including the set of three special video interviews with Gerald, for Brain Damage, we have some special details of interviews and other appearances to tie in with the publication today (in the UK) of the book itself.

"The Making of Pink Floyd: The Wall" is the authorized, definitive book about the project and includes new commentaries from the surviving members of Pink Floyd: Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Nick Mason, together with the director of the film, Sir Alan Parker. Roger Waters has written the foreword. The album imagery, stage performances and film were created in close collaboration with Gerald Scarfe, and his massive archive includes original storyboards, animation cells, concept drawings, models and other three-dimensional material together with photographs of the creation and staging of the live performances and the filming of The Wall.

In the book, Gerald also relates his own experiences of working with the band from the early days of Wish You Were Here to the Pros and Cons Of Hitchhiking with Roger Waters, after his break with the other band members, as well as his work for the new live show of The Wall. Thirty years after the first live performance was staged, Roger Waters is of course taking the show back on the road for a multi-city tour of the US from September 2010 to be followed in the spring of 2011 by a jaunt around Europe, bringing the album and the band right back into the headlines.

Having been very fortunate to have seen an early copy of the book, we know that this really will be a publication that all Pink Floyd fans will love. We're sure you will be knocked out by the quality of the book, and the depth of insight and the promised, never-before-seen material, is quite breathtaking. Our review will be here soon...
