David Gilmour's third solo album, On An Island - which was released in 2006 - hit the number one spot on the UK album charts, and was certified platinum. At the time it came out, for a limited time you could get your hands on the album on a very nicely put together vinyl package, which included a large poster within its gatefold loveliness.
As is common with many such things, this edition quickly sold out in most places, and if you take a look around now, those offering decent quality examples of the album normally put a price of up to £200 for it. However, we have some great news for you!
This coming Friday, October 9th, a limited edition, 180 gram heavyweight vinyl reissue is taking place, and orders can be placed through this direct link for despatch on release. As yet we don't know if the reissue is presented in the same way as the original - i.e. with the gatefold sleeve, and large poster, but we suspect it will.
