Pink Floyd 1968WOW - it's now the 27th YEAR of Brain Damage, your Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Syd Barrett, Richard Wright and Roger Waters news resource!

Marking the 50th anniversary of Pink Floyd's iconic 1975 album, a range of Wish You Were Here 50 celebratory editions: deluxe box set, blu-ray, 3LP set, 2CD set and coloured vinyl single LPs came out at the end of last year. Full details here. The LA 1975 concert, recorded by Mike Millard and remastered by Steven Wilson, came out as a standalone item on 4LP for Record Store Day, and 2CD across most of the world.

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, and digital was also released in 2025 - and is NOT to be missed. As is the 4K UltraHD edition out now!

Also last year, celebrating the concerts to coincide with David Gilmour's album, Luck and Strange, cinema/IMAX screenings, and a book, 2Blu-ray, 3DVD, 4LP, 2CD and deluxe box set options were also released and are getting very high praise.

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's their RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too much longer before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital which is out now.

COMPETITION: win a pair of tickets to WYWH show Print E-mail

wywh book coverMany of you entered the recent competition we ran, giving away three signed copies of the new book, "Wish You Were Here: Chapters In The Life Of Rex Roman". Just published, it looks at the life of this British actor (and fading star), whose story is inextricably tied up with his favourite band, Pink Floyd. A very funny book, it is also touching, and has many events and references that Floyd fans will identify with and enjoy, including, allegedly, "the best-kept secret in rock history".

A pair of live concerts are being held this month to formally launch the book, with a live band, supported by stand-up comedians. The band will be playing some NEW Floyd arrangements and just generally celebrating the music of Pink Floyd. And we've got a pair of tickets to give away to one lucky Brain Damage visitor!

UPDATE: Competition now closed - the lucky winners are: Robert Follen, Marc Desaulniers, Michael Mason and Neil Farmer, as Simon Ash decided to make it four pairs of tickets, not just one pair! Thanks Simon, and well done to the winners.

Wish You Were Here Live will be taking place on June 17th and 18th at the Wilde Theatre in Bracknell, Berkshire, UK, and promises to be a great evening. Rex's ultimate plan is for a full-scale stage show to be held (with Simon's help, of course), and this pair of concerts will give you an early chance to experience a flavour of what might be on the horizon. To buy tickets for the show, priced at just £12 each, call the box office on 01344-484-123, or visit the venue website.

But as a Brain Damage visitor you have the chance of winning a pair of tickets to the show, and the winner can pick which of the two nights (June 17th or 18th) that they'd like. The competition ends at midnight on Sunday, June 14th, and the winner will receive an email which he/she redeems at the box office for two 'best in the house' tickets. The winners will be warmly welcomed by the author, Simon Ash, and will be treated to a night of laughter and the music of the greatest band of all-time... Pink Floyd.

The Wilde Theatre is said to be one of the nicest venues outside of London and it's no wonder they call Bracknell the Las Vegas of the Thames Valley!
