WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!
It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!
The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!
There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.
Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release and cinema/IMAX screenings, and a book, 2Blu-ray, 3DVD, 4LP, 2CD and deluxe box set options have now been announced.
The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.
Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Buy Pink Floyd's eyeballs and help the homeless! |

The
UK's homelessness charity Crisis, of which David Gilmour was made a
vice president back in 2003, is auctioning off a pair of signed Pink
Floyd giant eyeballs, one of only ten pairs, as used on the cover of
the recent "PULSE" DVD. This is to help raise much needed funds for the
homeless this Christmas.
David said: "The eBay auction will not only raise much needed funds for
the charity, but will also raise awareness of the plight of the
homeless at a time of year when they are most vulnerable".
The eyeballs, approximately six feet high, have been signed by David,
Richard Wright and Nick Mason, along with designer Storm Thorgerson.
They were autographed at the July press launch in London of the PULSE
double DVD. The auction will be run between December 14th - 20th, with
all proceeds going to the charity.
Crisis and Pink Floyd hope that the auction might generate a
significant level of interest in these sought after items of rare
memorabilia, especially around the Christmas period when Floyd fans
might be looking for that perfect present, if not for others, for
themselves!
Interested parties can view the eyeballs by simply going to this link at eBay.co.uk, or by navigating to Music > Music memorabilia > Artists/groups > Pink Floyd, or by searching on "PINK FLOYD EYEBALLS"!
The eBay auction coincides with the UK television transmission of the
DSOTM segment of PULSE (as we've mentioned before). This airs at
11:35pm on Friday night (December 15th) on BBC1, and follows straight
on from the Jonathan Ross show.
By the way, to mark the festive period, Crisis are selling special Christmas Puddings to raise funds - visit www.crisispud.com
to order one. They are luxury Harrods puds, so should be yummy, and if
your bank balance doesn't stretch to bidding for the eyeballs, you
could always get a couple of these, and put one on top of the other,
instead!
Crisis is the UK's national charity for solitary homeless people and
works year-round across the UK helping people fulfil their potential
and transform their lives. Crisis helps rebuild the lives of homeless
people by helping those trapped in the cycle of homelessness and
raising awareness of their plight. The charity estimates that there are
around 380,000 hidden homeless people in Britain, living in hostels,
temporary bed and breakfast accommodation, squats or sleeping on the
floors of friends and family.
Our thanks to Crisis for their help, and we wish them all the best in the sale of this very desirable Floyd collectable!
UPDATE: The eyeballs sold for an impressive £16,500, and attracted 46 bids in total.
