Our friends in the Netherlands have an aural treat tomorrow night. Dutch station Radio 2 are broadcasting a string of legendary concerts, and those who tune in at 10pm will hear Pink Floyd performing part of their 1969 Concertgebouw show.

Floyd on Dutch Radio 2

The concert, held on September 17th at the plush Amsterdam venue, was recorded originally for airing on Radio Hilversum. An hour of the recording will air on Radio 2, consisting of "The Man - The Journey" suite. This was an early conceptual piece, which was never released in this form, although parts were later used elsewhere. It tells the story of 24 hours in the life of a man - sleeping and dreaming, getting up, going to work, and so on.

Many of you will be familiar with some of the songs performed - albeit in slightly different form, you get to hear the likes of Grantchester Meadows, Cymbaline, Biding My Time, Green Is The Colour, Pow R Toc H, and Careful With That Axe Eugene.

The radio station has a live stream on the internet, in Real Audio format. More information on the broadcast can be found at the Radio 2 website.

Our thanks to Richard van Oosterhout for the information.
