Nick Cave and Roger Waters are amongst those who've written music for Marianne Faithfull's new album.
'Give My Love to London' will be released in September 2014 and features lyrics by Faithfull and music from a host of guest artists, also including Pat Leonard, Tom McRae and Steve Earle. Roger will not be performing on the album. To coincide with the release, Faithfull will start a year long world tour this autumn.
This is not Marianne's first cover of a Roger Waters-penned song. Her 1999 album Vagabond Ways included the track Incarceration of a Flower Child, which was written by Waters in 1968, and never recorded by Pink Floyd. The lyrics seem to relate to Syd Barrett, but Waters has never confirmed this.

Now finally revealed, and marking the 20th anniversary of its release, Pink Floyd's final album The Division Bell is the subject of a deluxe box set arriving on June 30th, 2014. Chock-full of goodies, it features six discs, including three replica coloured or clear vinyl discs, 5 collectors' prints, a Blu-ray disc and for the first time Andy Jackson's 5.1 audio mix of the album. We detail the contents below.
The Division Bell debuted at No 1 in the UK and in the USA and, to date, has reached total album sales of over 12 million. The album was recorded by the band at Astoria and Britannia Row Studios. David Gilmour: "The three of us went into Britannia Row studios, and improvised for 2 weeks. Playing together and starting from scratch was interesting and exciting, it kick started the album and the process was very good, it was collaborative and felt more cohesive".
The Division Bell 20th Anniversary collector's box set will feature the new, much-anticipated 2-LP vinyl edition of the album, remastered by Doug Sax at The Mastering Lab from the original analogue tapes, including all the full length tracks (originally edited to fit on a single LP) in a gatefold sleeve designed by Hipgnosis/StormStudios. Five other discs are included: a red 7" vinyl replica of single Take It Back, clear 7" vinyl replica of High Hopes, 12" blue vinyl replica of High Hopes with reverse laser etched design, the 2011 Discovery remaster of The Division Bell and a Blu-ray disc including the album in HD Audio, plus the previously unreleased 5.1 surround sound version mixed and mastered by Andy Jackson and Damon Iddins.

For those who have been following the intriguing images on Pink Floyd's Facebook and Twitter, three of which have appeared with no explanation other than a #TDB20 hashtag, this afternoon a major update has occurred.
Accompanied by the same hashtag is a link to a new site - www.DivisionBell20.com. This is running, on a loop, a new promo video for Marooned - and a fascinating video it is, too. Rather than whales or similar, the start of the promo uses stunning International Space Station footage of the earth. Half way through, this shifts to a very much earthbound location - the city of Pripyat, in northern Ukraine, once home to 50,000 people, but now known as the ghost-town on the doorstep of Chernobyl following the tragic accident at the nuclear reactor in 1986. This is an eerie journey through corridors and buildings and does compliment the track well.
At the top of the page is a countdown, which seems to be heading for 3pm UK tomorrow (Tuesday)... we'll keep you posted as to what transpires. There are plenty of rumours, but it seems tomorrow we'll know for sure!

As many of you know, on April 29th the album Hendra, by Ben Watt (including a guest appearance by David Gilmour was released. After twenty years in Everything But The Girl, and ten
years as a respected DJ and record label boss of Buzzin' Fly, Ben Watt announced last year he was putting everything on hold to complete some long-planned creative solo projects.

Ben has been performing a few shows to promote the album, and this coming Monday, May 19th, he appears at the Islington Assembly Hall, at Islington Town Hall in London. For this show, he has a few guests including Bernard Butler, and David Gilmour, who will be performing on three tracks during the evening. Tickets are still available for the show, and can be purchased through Songkick.com. If you are unable to make it along to the show, look for our report afterwards - we'll bring you full details of the event.
In the meantime, you can currently order the CD from Amazon UK as a standard or deluxe edition, Amazon.com (US), Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, and Amazon Espana.

Those of us who follow the Pink Floyd's official Facebook page will have seen something quite interesting this afternoon, arriving unexpectedly in our Facebook news feeds...
This image has the hashtag of #TDB20 - it is of course the 20th anniversary of Pink Floyd's final album, The Division Bell, this year, and it appears that the band are keen to mark this. The small but intriguing image would - we presume - seem to be part of a larger image and it might be that this will be revealed before too long. Of course, there have been a few rumours of things, not least comments by Andy Jackson recently that a double vinyl edition will be released, so this could be related to that. Or not. Your guess is as good as ours!
It is certainly quite different from the iconic "Heads" variants used for the various covers of the album. The posting on the Floyd's Facebook has no information at all relating to it - just the hashtag.
More info, of course, when we have it...
