Pink Floyd-featured remastered soundtrack reissued on vinyl and CD Print E-mail

Tonite Let's All Make Love In London - soundtrack albumOne for the Pink Floyd collectors out there - recently, a new CD and vinyl edition of the original soundtrack album for the 1967 Peter Whitehead film, 'Tonite Let's All Make Love In London', was released.

The film looked at the "swinging London" scene of the sixties, and is based around a series of psychedelic performances and interviews, and features performance by Pink Floyd, together with footage of John Lennon, Yoko Ono, Mick Jagger, Vanessa Redgrave, Lee Marvin, Julie Christie, Allen Ginsberg, Eric Burdon, Michael Caine and many others.

The soundtrack album, reissued by Charly Records in a newly remastered edition, is available worldwide again for the first time since 1968. It's been released on limited 180g vinyl, and on CD in special packaging. A Japanese limited edition did appear in July 2012, but proved very scarce, and a version with a different track listing came out in 1990. This new edition of the original album features a remaster made from an original tape located in the vaults of CBS records in the USA. The CD features a heavy card gatefold cover, with the disc itself in an additional sleeve in one pocket, whilst the other pocket includes a booklet.

The album includes, amongst other things, Interstellar Overdrive by Pink Floyd, bookending the album which has a mix of dialog and music; separate releases have given Floyd fans the full version of Interstellar along with Nick's Boogie (recorded at the same session), so this release is more for those who want what was originally issued. With this remaster coming from the original tape, it's definitely the best quality you're going to hear it in.

The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains - Rome preview Print E-mail

The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains - Rome, Italy from January 2018With the new home of The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains about to open its doors to the public, Roger Waters and Nick Mason have been at Rome's Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Roma (MACRO), to help launch it.

The video report below shows off some of the exhibition, including (as expected) a different layout to the staging of it at London's Victoria & Albert, and some different items on display.

Amusingly, at one point in the interview, Roger reveals how he isn't particularly interested at the history of the band on display, more keen on the present and his current projects. Whilst some of the video is in Italian, Nick and Roger's comments are subtitled, not overdubbed.

The exhibition opens on January 19th, and tickets are now on sale via VivaTicket.it, all Vivaticket outlet locations and by phone on +39.041.2719035.

Advance booking is heavily recommended. We'd also advise you to book sessions that start no later than lunchtime if you really want to take your time over the exhibition - we had many reports of people spending five or more hours absorbing all the detail in London!

Pink Floyd album collection - France

Hot on the heels of Italy, who have just completed the same exercise, stores and news stands in France are just about to start issuing the entirety of Pink Floyd's albums on CD, as well as a double DVD of PULSE, as a part-work collection.

We suspect that these will be presented in the same manner as the Italian release - attached to a cardboard backing. If you take out a subscription to the series, so the albums are mailed to you, you will receive one free album, along with a selection of gifts - a couple of t-shirts, a poster (the Back Catalogue image) and a mug featuring Algie. The website advertising this also shows a sleeve to hold all the CDs, but makes no mention if this will be provided to customers.

Whilst we suspect most of you will have most, if not all, the band's albums, we know some like these different editions (not least for the retail presentation). If you wish to subscribe, or to find out more information, visit Hachette-Collections.com. Our thanks to Jerome for the information.

Roger Waters - 2018 Australia, New Zealand, Europe and South American tour Print E-mail

Roger Waters - Us + Them TourWith less than two weeks to go before Roger Waters resumes his Us + Them tour, which enjoyed an extremely well received jaunt around North America last year, we are getting ourselves ready for the fun to start again.

Roger's Us + Them tour brings a well thought out balance of old and new, with an incredible stage show. Visually, Roger has again pulled out all the stops for a show that has a strong message at its core. The tour resumes in Auckland, New Zealand for a pair of shows there, before heading to Dunedin for the final New Zealand concert - then it is off to Australia for a bunch of shows in February. As it stands, then there is a break before the European concerts start in mid-April.

As before though, we are extremely keen to find out what you think. If you are going to the show, we hope that you will get in touch after with your thoughts and feelings about the concert. If you wish to share your views with the wider Brain Damage community, we will be delighted to add them to the show page we've set up for each gig; these pages will also include things like pictures, and official videos, so if you have anything you'd like to contribute, we'd be very grateful.

As ever, you can get in touch - sending anything you think suitable - via email at  This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .

Gerald Scarfe: Stage & Screen - talk at House of Illustration London

Just over a month ago, we told you about Gerald Scarfe's current exhibition at London's House of Illustration. Now running until February 10th, "Gerald Scarfe: Stage & Screen" looks at Scarfe's varied work for stage and screen. It's a rare opportunity to explore the extensive but little-known production designs by the celebrated political cartoonist. Storyboards, costumes and props are on display from Pink Floyd's The Wall, Disney's Hercules and English National Ballet's The Nutcracker.

To mark the final weeks of the exhibition, the artist himself is appearing this month - January 18th, at 7pm - to give some personal insight into the works on display – many of which are being shown for the very first time.

Join Scarfe in conversation with Colin McKenzie, Director of House of Illustration, as he shares the stories behind the works and gives a personal insight into Gerald Scarfe: Stage and Screen. Find out more about the extensive but little-known production design by the UK's most celebrated political cartoonist.

Tickets for the interview include exhibition entry. To book for this event, visit houseofillustration.org.uk/whats-on/current-future-events/in-conversation-with-gerald-scarfe to secure your ticket.

We understand that there is a fair amount of Floyd-related material on display amongst his work for other projects, so should definitely be worth a visit next time you are in London, even if you are unable to attend the talk itself. More details, and to book tickets, visit HouseOfIllustration.org.uk. The venue is open 10am - 6pm Tuesday through to Sunday, and is just around the corner from King's Cross railway station.
