COMMENTS

The European leg of Roger's new tour - THIS IS NOT A DRILL - has now been announced, and is a new production. The show will be presented "live in the round" - a departure from Roger's previous shows. The production has already been seen in the US and Canada in the latter part of 2022, showcasing both the new visuals, and the new set list. More details of that can be found in the show pages for Roger's 2022 tour - but don't go there if you don't want to have any surprises spoilt!

Those who have attended - or have seen pictures/video of - Roger's previous tours, will know just how spectacular and moving this new production is likely to be, and how it is a show you really shouldn't miss! From comments Roger has made in recent interviews, it could be his final tour...

Night eleven of the 2023 This Is Not A Drill tour for Roger Waters, his band, and crew, and the second of a trio of shows in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

Initial reports from the fan community are that the show was as expected from last year's experiences of Roger's latest production, but as always, we value your first hand views on all the concerts - so if you went, please let us know your thoughts, like Johan Banis has done below!

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTOR, Johan Banis

I went to see Roger's This Is Not A Drill in Amsterdam. Actually I didn't want to go at all because I came to believe that Roger has lost track of reality. And I really disliked his comments on his former bandmates. But my wife and my son convinced me to go after all, so off we went.

I could tell you a lot of what I've seen and heard, but I won't. Check out You Tube and you'll know. But even better: get the hell out of your chair and buy a ticket for any of the upcoming shows. You won't regret a single second of it, but you may have to admit that the man is, basically, uncomfortably right about a lot of things.

Roger got me by the balls from the very beginning of Comfortably Numb until the fading heartbeats of Eclipse. His interpretation of the second half of TDSOTM gave me tears in my eyes and blew me right out of my socks. Beyond any imagination, this was.

But what struck me most is that Roger appeared to be a friendly old man. Chatting with the audience, making jokes, laughing, never seen him like this before. And he not only plays his bass, but also a mean 6-string Strat. Which he shouldn't do, though...

But I do take off my hat and bow deeply. I am now looking forward to hear his re-recording of The Dark Side of the Moon.

YOUR HELP NEEDED! We want to cover Roger's concerts the best we can, to share the experience with everyone, especially those who won't be able to attend the shows. We'd love to see ANY pictures, tickets scans, reviews, newspaper reports, and anything else you come across for this show - we look forward to hearing from you!
