COMMENTS

Roger's tour of The Wall in Europe concludes with this final show added when the first two nights here in Athens - July 8th and 9th - sold out in minutes! As with the previous night, Roger's management have advised that this show is being filmed and recorded. As a result they are making it clear that all cameras and all mobile phones are strictly forbidden and will not be admitted to the venue.

They point out that "the use of flash from cameras and phones will have a catastrophic impact on the projected images on the Wall and consequently on the quality of the filming. This is an extremely serious issue. The actual recording is not the problem; it is the use of flash. Constant flashing from members of the audience totally destroys the images projected on the Wall and this means that the filming of this concert will be a failure".

General sale tickets went go on sale on May 24th at 10:30am, through Tickethouse and online through www.Ticketpro.gr. The public sale will also see a limited number of VIP packages made available for each show on the tour. Our thanks to Phil for the ticket scan posting. As you can see, the Greek tickets are very nicely designed - probably the best of the whole tour!

WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD!

Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played, and what happened as the night unfolded!

Night sixty four of the tour, and the final time out for The Wall - this year! The last few months have flown by, with the show improving as time went on, the performances from each band member getting stronger and stronger somehow, and the little tweaks of the show have been great and gives audience members lots of things to look out for. Our coverage of the tour has been helped immeasurably by the ever-generous help of our great friend, Simon Wimpenny, who ended up seeing most of them!

In fact, it's over to Simon now for his brief thoughts that came just after the wall fell for the final time in 2011. "Great final show tonight, all of us were on the rail in front of Dave K for most of the show, crowd were a touch more reserved than night 1 and night 2 but still great, looked like Roger was having the time of his life"!

Make sure you check out Simon's blog at SimonWimpenny.blogspot.com where you'll find full details of all his travels, along with more pictures and videos.

If you went to this show, please let us know what you thought of the event, and if anything interesting or different happened if you've been to previous shows and can compare.
