Roger WatersThe nearly 37 year history of The Wall has undeniably touched millions of fans across the globe. And in every presentation and interpretation, Roger Waters' magnificent work retains the power to provoke, entertain and even polarize its fanbase.

Roger's latest creation, The Wall Super Deluxe Edition, was released in May of this year in a limited edition of just 1500 copies. To adequately cover the scale and depth of this monumental production, two unique reviews will be presented.

The first (this) review, named 'Construction', will cover all of the three-dimensional components that make up the massive box. Part Two of the review, coming at a later date, will be named 'Mixed Media'. In that review, I will explore images from the enclosed book, music from the vinyl records and compact discs, and comment on selected footage found on the blu-ray discs. Also, for both reviews I will make extensive use of photographs and will present my discoveries in the most objective voice possible. Naturally, for those who wish to avoid "spoilers" proceed with caution, as we show off the box set in some detail!

The physicality of The Super Deluxe Edition box is indeed very impressive, weighing in at 15 pounds. It is much heavier than last year's David Bowie 'Seven Years' box. While the David Bowie box is an impressive production with its remastered vinyl records and high quality book, the Wall Super Deluxe Edition is in an exclusive class by itself. We are now going to take you on a visual 'unboxing' of The Super Deluxe Edition of The Wall...

** The hardback book is 13.25 inches square, black and monolithic. Inside are 76 pages of color and black & white photographs printed on heavy stock paper. The cover also has a leathery texture and the embossed hammer logo. Inside the book is Roger’s autograph signed in silver ink on red paper

This concludes our review of The Wall Super Deluxe Edition, Part One: Construction. Next time around, in Part Two of our exclusive review we will have a wealth of 'Mixed Media' to explore. This includes an original musical score exclusive to this box set, as well as some very interesting video content found on the blu-ray discs. You can also count on more photographs, including shots of the delicious multi-colored vinyl LPs as well as the unique vinyl etching found on the last LP.
