Syd Barrett awarded posthumous Inspiration Award |

Last night (Monday, November 3rd), stars of the rock world attended London’s Park Lane Hotel to honour the winners of the prestigious Marshall Classic Rock Roll Of Honour Awards 2008. Hosted by Planet Rock DJ Nicky Horne, the event also celebrated the 10th anniversary of UK-based Classic Rock Magazine. The full list of winners can be found here.
A poignant moment came when Syd Barrett was posthumously awarded the Tommy Vance Inspiration Award (sponsored by Gibson guitars). Syd’s sister, Rosemary Breen, collected the award in honour of her late brother, who sadly passed away in 2006.
