crisis Five years ago, David Gilmour sold his London mansion for £3.6million, donating the money to the homelessness charity Crisis. The aim was for the Urban Village concept, hugely successful in New York, to be brought to London to provide much needed housing for low-paid keyworkers, and for the homeless.

Sadly, the project has been blocked with objections, and the charity is now looking at much smaller schemes. In a report in today's Observer newspaper, David says: "Obviously this setback is a disappointment, but I am determined to make a success of the Urban Village project here in London and to continue to work with Crisis to bring real change to the lives of homeless people."

You can read the article in full here, and we also urge you to consider supporting the excellent work Crisis do. Find out more at www.Crisis.org.uk.
