We reported extensively last year on the Fender Strat Pack show DVD. For those who haven't bought it yet, we have some news of television broadcasts in Europe of the whole show.

David Gilmour at Fender Stratocaster celebration concert
David Gilmour at "Miller Strat Pack"
concert, Wembley, 24th September 2004
The concert, on 24th September 2004, which featured Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour alongside a whole host of top musicians at the London Wembley Arena, was a charity event in aid of Nordoff-Robbins, and celebrated 50 years of the Fender Stratocaster guitar.

The concert alone raised £175,000 (around US$330,000) for the music therapy charity, and the DVD was expected to swell this figure dramatically.

The concert was mixed and edited in David Gilmour's home studio by David and Andy Jackson.

The footage, shot under the watchful eye of Aubrey "Po" Powell, one part of Hypgnosis (the partnership with Storm Thorgerson), is a joy to watch, having been recorded in high definition.

The Artsworld channel on Sky satellite TV (channel 157) is showing the whole concert this week, including David's 23 minute slot towards the climax of the show.

You can catch the broadcast on Thursday (26th Jan) at 10:30am GMT, and on Friday (27th Jan) at 8am GMT.

Our thanks to John Johnstone, Richard Thresh, Dave Carlin, David Haddock and AOL Honours, for their help with this story!
