With the first show in exactly six weeks time, David Gilmour has revealed the band who will be accompanying him on his On An Island tour - and a superb line-up it is too.

The tour is to support his new album, which is released on March 6th. The tour, David’s first since the record-breaking 1994 Pink Floyd Division Bell tour, starts in Hamburg on March 10th, goes to North America in April and returns to the UK at the end of May.

Since the tour was announced, there has been much speculation over who might be accompanying him on the road. With the recent announcement of Guy Pratt's solo shows a number of you spotted that he studiously avoided any of David's dates, so that gave a good clue! As far as the other musicians go, they are all excellent musicians... let's put you out of your misery and reveal all!

Here's the band:

David Gilmour
Richard Wright Keyboards (and vocals?)
Guy Pratt Bass guitar (and vocals?)
Phil Manzanera Guitar (and vocals?)
Jon Carin Keyboards (and vocals?)
Dick Parry Saxophone
Steve DiStanislao   Drums

Phil Manzanera, apart from a thriving solo career, is also Roxy Music's guitarist and co-producer of On An Island. Steve DiStanislao has recently provided drumming duties for Crosby & Nash (who both appear on On An Island!).

The concert set-list is still to be decided but is likely to combine David’s favourite Pink Floyd tracks with tracks from ‘On An Island’, in a two-part show with no support act. Obviously, more news as we get it!
