Pink Floyd fans in Australia who fancy seeing something a bit different next month, and perhaps with Roger Waters' recent comments about classical music in the interesting BBC documentary, in their minds, have got a night out to consider.
One of the performances is at the world famous Sydney Opera House (surely an ideal venue for Roger's Ca Ira at some point in the future?). The organisers have said that "Shine on you Crazy Diamond provides audiences with a different way of exploring music and is an exciting, dynamic orchestral piece to be included in the first program of the Orchestra’s 30th birthday year."
Certainly the piece lends itself
to an orchestral rendition, and with the pedigree of the performers,
should be an interesting show.
