With David Gilmour's new album, On An Island, arriving in four days (it hits the stores on March 6th in the UK and Europe, and March 7th in the US), and our review tomorrow, we have some more news on radio broadcasts, and of a bizarre coincidence, linking an upcoming astronomical event with David's album!

On March 29th, 2006, there will be a total (100%) solar eclipse - that is, the sun will be eclipsed by the moon! As unusual as these events are, the really unusual thing is that the only European place to see the 100% eclipse will be a small Greek island off the Turkish coast, called... Castellorizon! Most of you will be aware that this island forms a central theme for David's album, and indeed, the first track is named after it.

Our thanks to Savvas for getting in contact with this timely coincidence!

In other news, we have details of all the different US/Canadian broadcasters airing the various David Gilmour specials over the next few days/week.

Firstly, we've already told you about the Canadian album premiere and interview. For full details of which radio stations are carrying this, and at what times, CLICK HERE.

The Rock Stations one-hour Radio Special will air at some time between Friday 3rd March and Monday 6th March (check with your local station for full details). CLICK HERE for details.

The AAA Stations one-hour Radio Special will air at some time between Friday 3rd March and Monday 6th March (check with your local station for full details). CLICK HERE for details.

As mentioned before, there will also be syndicated programmes of In the Studio with Red Beard, and Rockline, which is syndicated to 60 classic rock stations, and should be broadcast on Wednesday 8th March, so listen out for that. US digital station Sirius Satellite Radio will be devoting its The Vault channel to David Gilmour and Pink Floyd, featuring music and interviews from Monday 6th March to Friday 10th March.

The album can now be ordered for delivery upon release (if you are quick!), through these special links: US/International, UK/Europe, Canada, France or Germany.

And finally, we know that a number of you will also want to buy the vinyl edition (or indeed, instead of the CD version!). Here's the links you need for this edition, which will be in a specially designed gatefold sleeve: Amazon UK, France, or Germany. The vinyl edition will be released shortly after the CD version - as yet we don't have the exact date, but you shouldn't have to wait too long. A painstaking job is being taken with this edition, so should be worth it!
