Billed as "an Evening of Rock 'n' Roll", London's sumptious Porchester Halls plays host to the Sunflower Jam on September 14th - an event that could have a reasonable amount of Floyd-related involvement.

The event is an intimate and informal evening of dinner and musical entertainment, in aid of the Complementary Therapy Team working within cancer services at University College London Hospital (UCLH) working with children, young people and adults with cancer. It costs £5000 per year for one therapist to work for one day a week on the wards with the patients, their families and the staff.

Following the champagne reception, the dinner (courtesy of renouned chef Paul Clerehugh of the Crooked Billet), and an auction and raffle, is a one-off concert.

This will include performances from the likes of Robert Plant, Ian Paice, Jon Lord, Paul Weller, Phil Manzanera, Linda Lewis, and Sam Brown supported by a Celebrity House Band including renowned musicians Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens, Margo Buchanan, Nick Fyffe and Bernie Marsden. Many of these have played with David Gilmour at various times in the past, and of course, the great Phil Manzanera is part of David's current touring band. As house bands go, quite a line-up, I'm sure you agree!

Interestingly, amongst the musicians who have been invited to perform, but (we stress) have not confirmed their attendance, are David himself and fellow bandmate Guy Pratt.

Due to the nature of the event, tickets are priced at £250 per ticket, or tables can be bought from £2500. The ticket price includes the food, drink and entertainment.
