Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets - Pompeii showAnother show has been added to the European tour of Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets in July, and it's another Italian show, fitting nicely into the gap between Matera and Gardone Riviera, and in quite a special location...

As Pink Floyd related locations go, Pompeii is a key one. Sadly, concerts are not allowed in the ancient amphitheatre that the Floyd, and more recently David Gilmour, have performed in.

However, just along from that venue is one that the band ARE able to play in - the Teatro Grande, or Grand Theatre, which (as with the amphitheatre) is in the grounds of the excavated ruins. The band will be playing there on July 24th, 2023, and tickets for this show (which we suspect will be much in demand) go on sale at 12pm local time tomorrow (Wednesday, 22nd March) through this direct link at dalessandroegalli.com.

The Teatro Grande is thought to have been built in the second century BC, carved into the lava mass on which Pompeii was originally built. It was one of the first permanent stone theatres in the Roman empire, and used to seat around 5,000. It was preserved - as the rest of the site was - by the devastating volcanic eruption of Mount Vesuvius, and these days for events caters for around 1,800-2,000 audience members.

Should be a magical place to see the band in action on their 2023 Echoes Tour, which is also heading to Australia for a string of shows in September.
