Uncut chatted to Nick Mason to discover more about the Saucerful Of Secrets project (the band undergo a set of four shows in London over the course of the coming week). Making the important distinction that "It's not important to play the songs exactly as they were, but to capture the spirit", which helped inform who would join Nick on stage. He reveals that he told both David Gilmour, and Roger Waters, of his intentions to revisit some of the band's earlier repertoire live, and found them very supportive. The chat with Nick also hints at what the set is likely to include come Sunday evening in Camden. Elsewhere in the magazine there's a major feature on the aforementioned Lydon (known to many as Johnny Rotten in a previous musical life). Lydon, Jah Wobble and Keith Levene recall the last days of the Sex Pistols and explain how the pioneering, cantankerous Public Image were born. Father John Misty, Ray Davies and Johnny Cash also have features within, and the magazine is sold with a cover mounted CD. The magazine can be purchased online now through Newsstand.co.uk. |
