The UK's Official Charts organisation logoThe worldwide release on Friday of David Gilmour's new album, Rattle That Lock has been met with a very strong reaction from the album buying public, and indeed certain editions seem to be in extremely short supply as a consequence, based on a number of emails we've received asking about the general availability - in particular, the CD/DVD and CD/Blu-ray box sets.

As a sign of just how strongly it is selling, the Official Charts organisation in the UK, who publish all the album and single charts, have noted that it has been "a great start to the week for legendary Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour – he leads the race for the top of the Official Albums Chart". They note that Rattle That Lock outpaces nearest rival Lana Del Rey by over 12,000 combined sales, putting Gilmour on track to take the top spot this Friday.

On An Island topped the album charts back in 2006, and nine and a half years later, Rattle That Lock is due to continue that trend. Once the official charts for various countries are published, we will update with information on how RTL has fared in different regions.
