Sonik issue 87 - Roger Waters on coverThere's been a couple of changes to one of the shows on the 2013 Roger Waters The Wall Live tour which starts next Thursday in The Netherlands.

The concert due to be held on 31st July at the OAKA Olympic Stadium in Athens, Greece, has been moved to 1st August at Terra Vibe Park in Athens. This is a venue Roger has used in the past so will be familiar to him. Ticket holders for this show may well have already been contacted by the ticketing organisation; any concerns or issues with the date/venue changes should be raised directly with them.

On the subject of Roger in Greece, the new issues (number 87) of that country's Sonik Magazine, which is available physically (in stores) and digitally (at Readpoint.com/Sonik.aspx). As you'll see from the picture to the left, Roger Waters is featured on the cover, and within the magazine there's a five page article on the "kids choir" which appeared on Another Brick In The Wall part 2.

The story behind the song is well known, with Nick Griffiths asking Alun Renshaw, music teacher of Islington Green School to choose some kids to sing a rock song. Renshaw chose 23 children, and told them to sing the controversial lyrics not as a choir would, but with a degree of venom and anger. For this, they each got a copy of the album, a copy of Another Brick in the Wall, and a ticket for an Earl's Court concert. The band's management also gave £1000 to the school for their music department. The magazine notes that "today the kids are 47 years old and they have a great story to tell to their children!" and this story is also revealed in the magazine.
