COMMENTS

Roger's tour of The Wall arrives in Ireland for a show at this large new stadium. As at the initial tour announcement, this formed the final show of 2013 so we know of many travelling various distances to be at the event.

The RogerWaters.com presales have begun, with advance tickets available to those who had registered their interest in particular cities. General sale tickets are being sold through Ticketmaster.ie and other normal agents (exact dates and outlets can be found via Roger's website). The public sale will also see a limited number of VIP packages made available for each show on the tour. Our thanks to Marc for the ticket scan to the right...

YOUR HELP NEEDED! We want to cover Roger's concerts the best we can, to share the experience with everyone, especially those who won't be able to attend the shows. We'd love to see ANY pictures, tickets scans, reviews, newspaper reports, and anything else you come across for this show - we look forward to hearing from you!

WARNING - SPOILERS AHEAD!

Do not read on if you don't want surprises to be spoilt, regarding what the band played, and what happened as the night unfolded!

Night twentysix of the tour, and of course the penultimate show of 2013, and of The Wall Live as a whole. From reports we've had so far, the weather remained kind at this outdoor venue, and the band played a blinder. Just one more show left...

If you went to this show in Dublin, please let us know what you thought of the event, and if anything interesting or different happened if you've been to previous shows and can compare.

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTORS, Marc & Lex

In 2011 we saw the The Wall in the small (too small!) O2 venue. This time the large Aviva stadium is the place to be. After a short flight to Dublin we go to our hotel and visit some pubs. We have to pick up our pre-sale tickets in a hotel in the neighbourhood of the stadium. Everything is well organised and combined with the Irish hospitality.

We have gold circle seatings and to our surprise we enter the floor from behind the wall! As we sit in the middle of the 7th row the view will be superb. Normally we see the show more from behind so this gives us a new experience/perspective.

The show is fantastic. Roger makes a mistake at the guitar while playing "Mother" but that's all. The band is in great shape again and it's from one highlight to another highlight. From our position the sound is very clear. The Irish public is very enthusiastic and this is noticed by the guys on the stage.

After the show the farewell speech from Roger is a little bit longer as usual. Most of the people from the front rows are walking up to the stage to see their hero from a very close distance, of course we are joining them. Roger tells the public that tonight's show is the prelude and that his very last show will be in Paris next Saturday. The crowd booed (more as a joke we assumed) and then Roger said "well tonight was the last show in a country where they speak English". A very humorous end of a cold but very great evening. After some pints of Guinness we are warm again and have a short sleep. We return to Amsterdam knowing that Saturday morning we will be heading to Paris for the last concert of Roger Waters. This will be a very emotional concert!

So it happened again in Dublin last night...only this time in a stadium, not an arena. This means we had higher fireworks, longer plane flight, bigger explosions and pigs flying further into the crowds, as well as an astoundingly longer wall spanning the stage, with much wider animations and imagery. Also the added plus of stage films shown each side of the wall.

You don't need me or any other BD visitor to tell you about this show- you know all about the pyrotechnics, the stage puppets the wall building or even the music- it's still that great show from 2011 - but with some small extras, for example another few verses are added to the end of ABITW pt 2, reported on BD earlier in the year.

Roger thanked "the last country where its people speak English" (very diplomatic!) before the juggernaut rolls off into Europe, and reminded us that not just the 12 piece band on stage is responsible for the spectacle we just witnessed, but also the 189 strong crew who work tirelessly to make it happen.

Paris next- enjoy guys... you are in for such a treat...

Penultimate gig and I had to be there, and to take my fiancée for the first time. I had been to the two Dublin indoor Wall shows in May 2011 and was eager to see the stadium show. I've also been to two Dark Side shows in 2006.

Apart from the stage show itself, the stand out aspect to those two shows was the extremely enthusiastic crowd reception, would that be true for the bigger show in the new Aviva National Stadium? Answer: YES! YES! YES!

Roger sure does deliver on sound quality, visuals, messages, atmosphere, camaraderie, band musicianship and generally bringing to life this album that we all seem to 'own', love and feel uncomfortable about all at the same time.

I still don't understand how the sound quality can be so good because of the speaker set up, how can it be so well synched for all positions?

Lasting memories? - Roger's genuine message thanking the crowd and all the production team. Parts- in the flesh, the thin ice, mother, hey you, nobody home, comfortably numb, run like hell. Oh and the look on my fiancee's face during the show.

Thank you Roger and the band and team for tonight!

All the very best, Ian.

CONCERT REVIEW by BD CONTRIBUTORS, Ken & Mags

This was the 4th time to see The Wall Live, the last 3 indoor, and I have to say it was definitely the best! There's no doubt this show always needed to be outdoors. The atmosphere, sound, visuals, Roger & the band were all incredible. So powerful, emotional and spectacular.

We left the stadium feeling a little sad with the thought that this was almost the end. I hope Roger gets to work (after a well deserved rest) on his rumoured new album and just maybe he will decide to tour it - we will be there!

Thanks for everything over the years Roger - we caught you "In The Flesh" & on the "Dark Side" too. It has been amazing.

Also a big thanks to Brain Damage who have kept us up to date and in touch with all of this over the years - the best fansite in the world by a long long way! Pink Floyd & Roger deserve you. Well done guys!
